This song is my attempt to process the wrenching incident that took place in my hometown on Memorial Day.  My hope is that real change will come from George Floyd’s murder though 2020 is seeming eerily similar to 1968.  
Tech note:  the jet plane heard in the recording was not intentional, just bad timing.  ***Updated with live drum kit 3/26/2023.***

SHORT TALES OF THE ROADS LESS TRAVELLED 

This is a second session recorded after my previous track SHORT TALES OF THE GREEN FOREST last week, where I let the inspiration take me in whatever directions I feel are right, crossing the borders of several styles or genres. I use a trio acoustic guitar setting, allowing more intricacies and a richer rhythmical and harmonic range. This one travels across more oriental and Latin roads, occasionally passing by more Jazz and fusion ones. 

I hope it can also take you away on a little journey. As always I appreciate your comments, likes and shares tremendously.

Here's another preview of the upcoming Penelope's Thrill album--something a little different--a rock song with a tuba solo! When I was recording this song with my Starfire XII electric 12 string, I just felt it was crying out for a tuba solo (which would be about the biggest possible contrast for the chime of a 12 string). Luckily, Ben Jaeger--the amazing guitarist for the Madison, Wisconsin, band Sunspot--is also a tuba virtuoso, and he agreed to take this on.
"L&C Eternally" is about Lonnie and Chloe, who grow up on adjacent farms in southern Wisconsin. (In fact, the whole new album is about them.)
The main guitar I play on this is my 1966 Guild Starfire XII, my choice for the best electric 12 ever built. With some fast-picking and palm-muting, it can make some unique sounds! The Starfire is helped by my Gretsch 2420 and my '78 Guild S-60.
(And, yes, that is me doing the really high backing vocals!)
