If you don't know the Blues, there's no point in even picking up a guitar. And guitarist Larry Smith comes with a warning: Watch out! He plays Blues/Rock that bites back! . 
Half British and half American, Larry came of age in the 60's, when Rock propelled music and popular culture into a consciousness that continues to be a major influence two generations later. Chuck Berry famously said, "It used to be called Boogie-Woogie, it used to be called Blues, used to be called Rhythm and Blues. It's called Rock now." Living in London in 1967, he heard Jimmy Hendrix on pirate radio and was inspired to learn guitar. This opened the door to the influences of The Yardbirds, John Mayall, The Rolling Stones, Frank Zappa, Robert Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Bo Diddley and many others. 
In a career that spans both sides of the Atlantic and over 3,500 gigs. His shows are riveting because he knows exactly how to unharness a performance in the moment. He effortlessly blends powerful guitar playing with an expressive vocal style to shape his signature sound. a mix of Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray with a dash of Richie Blackmore. He consistently brings a new edge to performances and balances his playing with a technical excellence that comes only from a lifetime devoted to music. 
He has worked with members of AC/DC, Manfred Mann, Deep Purple, Dio, Rainbow, The Blues Band, Thin Lizzy, Home, Wings, The Who, Marcus Malone, Cozy Powell, and also many sessions. 
After years on the road, Larry finally took a break from music and the music business and moved to Spain. It wasn't long before Larry started performing again in and around Barcelona and began making his mark on the local scene with his fantastic guitar playing. He is currently recording new music with a newly formed classic blues/rock trio, Larry Smith and Unfinished Business. A diverse and accomplished musician who also plays bass and trumpet, Larry is also a composer/writer, live and studio engineer and actor.

FUNKMATA is the birth of a new generation cosmopolitan African musician namely singer/songwriter Robert Bannerman with session men from Accra Ghana,
Nashville United States and Berlin Europe. This new genre of artist feels that Africa can make its name on the international market with cosmopolitan pop music. The music has many flavours to it and is essentially therapeutic in these troubled times. FUNK music made by Africans with a cosmopolitan background. In January 2007 FUNKMATA was chosen as a Top5 finalist by SOTY songoftheyear.com for the instrumental Realpayback and was given a Web Award. In March 2007 the single Is it True? was chosen for the suggested Artist of the month by SOTY again. Unisong.com which is a songwriting competition judged by songwriters based in California, voted the song Real Payback in it’s Top 20 list of finalists for instrumental songs for the year July’06 to June’07. This was awarded in June ‘07. On the 11th of July ’07 Logginspromotion.com conducted a radio survey of the song Realpayback and obtained the best rating of 4 (****)stars for the song. This manifests the potential of that track if airplay was effected nationwide in the States. FUNKMATA was awarded a nominee for the track Realpayback and Four Finalists slots with ABC Radio’ Famegamesradio.com Effigy Awards in ‘08. The track Still Alive was #26 on ABC’s Top 40 radio charts for Feb ‘09. FUNKMATA is striving to attain greater heights with hard work and planning. This is just the beginning, since we are aware that Africa wants Trade and not Aid and will relentlessly pursue our business plan until we break on through to the other side. We are convinced at this juncture many will follow in FUNKMATA’s footsteps and try to make something out of the blue. We have the belief. We have the faith. We have the power of the mind. Hailing from Kristiansund on the northwest coast of Norway, Helge Tømmervåg has been crafting electronic sounds since the early '80s. His earliest work recorded under the now-familiar Mind over MIDI moniker arrived in the early '90s. He's released scores of highly regarded and stylistically uncompromising sounds over the years, appearing on labels including Silent Seasons, Diametric, Hibernate, Whitelabrecs, ROHS! Lontano Series, Shimmering Moods Records, Slow Tones Collages and via his own Berserk Fabrik.
