After a rainy morning in late March, Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10-year old witch apprentice) went for their daily inspection round of the damp witch’s forest. Along the way, they met with a group of squirrels, a group of starlings and a group of snails, after which they had a chat with Barney the barn owl. He remembered that centuries ago, there used to be special names for all specific groups of animals, but now all these names have been forgotten. Then Falke asked whether he was really sure that all these names had been lost for good. Barney gave it a deep thought, and then he said that ‘mayybee … maybe there is a chance that the owls of Snowdonia have preserved these ancient names’. And Barney proposed to fly to that place, which left the witches elated. Hekske uttered a size reduction spell and both (now pocket-sized) girls jumped on the back of Barney, who flew away in Western direction. After a long flight over the North Sea on the wings of the owl, a pod of porpoises showed them the way to the island of Albion. And on top of the white cliffs on the coast, the visitors were immediately spotted by a watch of nightingales, who showed them the way to Snowdonia. On the edge of the forest, a murmuration of starlings took over and guided their guests to the hollow willow tree. Barney, Hekske and Falke entered the tree through a small hole, but after entering they found themselves in the middle of a vast chamber which was full with owls. This was obviously the parliament of owls and its eldest member (a venerable eagle-owl) welcomed their visitors, and enquired what was the purpose of their quest. Hekske explained that they were seeking the names of all specific groups of animals. Upon hearing this request, the eyes of the eagle-owl lit up and he started to smile. He showed his visitors the way to a secret library, where they found a very old and dusty book. The eagle-owl explained that this was the original book of St-Albans, written in the 15th century and one of the oldest printed books of Albion (and the oldest English book written by a woman). Hekske and Falke cautiously opened the age-old book and browsed to the chapter about ‘The Companies of Beasties and Fowlies’. And there they found the list of all groups of animals … a gaggle of geese, a bike of bees, an unkindness of ravens, a murder of crows, a conspiracy of rooks, a skulk of foxes, a business of ferrets …
This book was a real treasure which left the witches breathless. The rest of the day, Hekske, Falke and Barney memorized over 100 different group names, after which they said goodbye to the parliament of owls and flew back to their home forest in Flanders. And after a long flight they got a warm welcome by a group of coots … and now they could reveal that they were actually a ‘covert’ of coots …

On The Way To Ozora 2024 is also SOME1, a new project by Anton Maiko, better known for his alias Mindwave. In this project, Anton decided to expand his musical journey by experimenting and creating something different and fresh. The combination of deep fat bass, his well-known signature atmospheric sound, and the ability to create a story in each track, is what makes SOME1 a cutting-edge Psychedelic Trance project. His first release as SOME1 – Dragonfly EP, was released in 2019 on Iono Music and received immediate attention across the world. After a few more releases, the debut album “Delicate Vibration” was released on Iono Music in 2020. The album hit waves and SOME1 became one of the most interesting acts in the Psytrance scene.

Before I introduce you to our guest mix of the week, I'd like to thank everyone who attended the Tarab Experience 001 last Saturday. I'm extremely grateful for all the support and for the magic we created on the dancefloor together. 🪩✨

After spending years immersed in the electronic music scene as part of the crowd, traveling the world to explore some of the biggest electronic music festivals, and hosting some of the most iconic private after-parties internationally, he finally decided to take it to the next level and jump behind the decks. 

Now is a great time to get to know him and have a taste of his work because he will be very active this summer. He has numerous releases coming up in the next few months, alongside his first official international tour as LEPROF. 🌎

Up with his debut transmission on Stil vor Talent, Sincopat mastermind AFFKT steps up with a duo of absolute mischief-inducing weapons, codename 'Oie'. Both cuts work in that dichotomic gap between darkness and light, channeling both states' energies and harnessing them to captivating effect. Very much inspired by his early days as a father, the two tracks tap in a distinct repertoire, extrapolating elements common to electro, hip-hop and body music with a straight out playful approach. Combining onslaughts of ankle-snapping breaks with a propulsive EBM thrust, 'King of Ocucu' gets the ball rolling on a truly pumping dynamic, revving up the bass-fuelled engines as Moog 1 synthwaves send us spinning into cosmic orbit. A celebration of life over darkness and gloom. 'Pelailla' pulls out further abrasive breaksy maneuvers and swirling Detroit-style kinetics, mixing that future-facing dash with proper club-focussed traction. Tight and spacious all at once, the track whorls frantically in and out of axis, rallying ravers to join its disjointed dance in a state of astral projection. Techgnosis Sessions 086 - Nya Nyx [AUT]

After a lengthy hiatus I've decided to bring these mixes back. I just have too much good music that I want to share. I'm also launching a new Instagram account to post some music related content. @deepresmusic

As for the mix! I started out with some good ol' long lost Flako then get bouncy for a few minutes before the mix diverts to an hour or so of some chilled out music that I've been really feelin lately. Its definitely more of an introspective mix, something to listen to at night or during a long drive. Hope you enjoy!
