More great new music from Soul:r's home city of Manchester. Chimpo is a local legend. He's been on the underground scene for years, dj'ing and producing his homemade blend of multi genre bass infused electronic music. Known also for his unique microphone skills, Chimpo's delivery style and wit is something to behold. These four tracks showcase all of what chimpo has to offer. A release that will stand out for being different and yet totally devastating on the dance floor. The vinyl release contains a huge remix of the title track, "Frontline", by Calibre that utilises Fox's vocal and flips the sound back to the days of jungle techno. Add also the deadly production unit of Dub Phizix and Skeptical on lead track "Buzzin" and you have a package that we at Soul:r are very proud of indeed.

Greek duo Disphonia joins the Eatbrain roster, armed to the teeth with 'War Bunker' -a formidable audio weapon. Choral elements call out while hints of the warm, electric bassline begin to pulse gently underneath. Disphonia raises the pressure with every passing second, until they unleash the track in full force - an infectious rhythm comprising a bouncing, evil reece and surgically precise drums.  Closing out Full Force EP comes a collaboration for the ages - State of Mind with Budapest dons Jade and Mindscape. The product is a track worthy of the trio. No-nonsense sci-fi synth melodies and slick, uplifting arpeggios transport ‘Know Your Place’ into the distant future before SOM, Jade, and Mindscape bring things back with a dirty, earthy reece which ricochets upon towering sub bass and tactile, concussive drums. Each producer leaves their mark on the track, which is equal parts seduction, ruthlessness, and funk. This trifecta makes ‘Know Your Place’ an authentic blueprint for dancefloor annihilation.

Coppa - An Act of Aggression: THE REMIXES
Four classic originals. Four amazing remixes. Coppa and his Comanche imprint continue to up the game, and change the game. CMR004 comes with remixes from Benny L, Samy Nicks, AKOV and Blaine Stranger, who each take on one of the tracks from Coppa's An Act Of Aggression LP.
Coppa's reputation and hard work has been rightfully recognised, and after years in the game he is fully flying the flag for drum & bass on stages all over the world. The new remix collection adds another dimension, with four new takes on some of the bigger tunes from last year's album. 
Blaine Stranger takes on Coppa & Raise Spirit's Huge Oh No, which features Nihayet. The same storming, ominous sound, the same massive vibes, but a fresh approach, with Blaine bringing the drums front and centre and adding new synth melodies in a remix which the crowds'll love, taking the tune to yet more listeners than before. Watch out for this one, fire in the dance. Coppa and Disphonia provide the wicked Paranoize, which Akov remixes for CMR004. Just when you thought the original couldn't be added to, Akov completely switches things up, dropping the tempo to half time, isolating the vocals and zeroing in on details to boost the very best parts of the track. A perfect remix on many fronts, you'll want to play this one again and again.
Benny L navigates the Rhythms Of Life, courtesy of the main man Coppa, Virtue and Damian Yonge. Once again, the devil's in the detail, as the remixer swaps in heavier basslines and sharp kicks to bring the new version to life. Energetic and joyful, this is a new anthem in the making. When the beat drops back in, you'll know why we're tipping this one for the top. Essential.
Closer Panic is remixed by Samy Nicks, who builds on Coppa and Benny L's original. This one is the pure, raw edge of drum & bass that we all love so much, and is going to be a tune which you're going to be hearing a lot of in the next few weeks and months.

“I am an open-minded person and I just love music in general – good music, from D&B, electro, techno, metal, punk – it just needs to have energy and drive for me. When I was young I listened to lots of punk and metal until a friend played me a tape with some early rave on it. After that I began to DJ with vinyl at underground raves and squat parties around CZ. When I first started producing my own tracks I was into digital hardcore, but I got really excited when I discovered drum & bass producers like Ed Rush and Technical Itch. The sound they were pioneering was incredible and I became more and more interested in making my own take on it.”

“After a year and half since my ‘Thronecrusher LP’ hit I’m so happy to present my brand new 3-track ‘Punk & Rust’ EP on my own Forbidden Society Recordings. The tunes are inspired by my love of early hip-hop and punk, really heavy. Maybe not for every ear but I was on a studio vibe and this is what came out! Sustance returns to Dispatch LTD with his 2nd full release – following huge support on his debut The Allow (It) EP, he is back in August with the ‘Shiv EP’.

Wasting no time at all, the Londoner is rapidly building up a strong reputation for his razor sharp productions and stripped back minimal grooves, equipped with unmistakably weighty low ends that test any discerning sound system.

Every time you think you've pinned down what Document One do, they show off one more facet to their style and confound your expectations. Since they signed to Technique Recordings, they've hit raves, airwaves, and rarefied DnB chart altitude with music influenced by all kinds of source material. Jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, and techno have all been blended into something that could almost be neurofunk, but has a character all of its own.

We're soon going to be bearing witness to Document One's most expansive project to date, a five track EP to which “Haunted Spaces” is the title piece. And, if this sample is anything to go by, we're in for something dangerous.

As the bass plucks and psychotic monologue rap of the intro set the tone, it's clear that, along with that familiar laid-back jazzy Doc One vibe, there's an edge of darkness too. And then the drop takes us down the rabbit-hole even further.

A warped hybrid bassline, part natural, part machine, leads the way, while sharp lashes of drum keep things rolling. It's an irresistible funk-infused groove, but that shadow of tech paranoia is never far away. When the breakdown brings back that almost horrorcore verse, that feeling is confirmed and cemented.

This is Document One pushing the boundaries of the sound they've established for themselves. It's still aimed directly at the dancefloor, but has a more evil glint in its eye than you might be expecting. If this is the type of thing we can expect from the rest of the EP, we'd better brace for impact. It's going to be an intense ride.
