Artificial Intelligence will be releasing their next album with Metalheadz and it’s their most accomplished work to date. A mature, confident long player that when listening you can’t help but feel is ‘potential achieved’ and a genuine pleasure to be releasing via the label.
The aesthetic of the album harks back to early AI material. It’s full of soul but has darker moments amongst its beauty. The palette of the project draws on classic era Jungle and goes as far back as Chicago house but in its entirety it’s much more than that; they are just some of the influences to be found on an expansive album that ticks many boxes.
Collaborations on the album come from SCAR and newcomer Dawn Wall whilst vocals are taken care of by DRS, Terri Walker, Steo and MC Sense.
Let’s leave label boss Goldie to have the final say on the album; ‘Artificial Intelligence have given us some great music in the past so naturally I’m really happy that we’ll be releasing their latest album, I’ve been a fan for a long time’

Celebrating two decades in business, Technique Recordings have opened up the vaults and handed out the stems of some of their biggest tunes to some of the sickest producers around. We had warnings of what was to come with DC Breaks' remix of Tantrum Desire's 'Airhead' and Glitch City's take on Drumsound & Bassline Smith's 'Skumbag', and cuts from this album have been shelling down raves and festivals all summer.

Now, here's what we've been waiting for.

This album, spanning the full twenty years of Technique history, showcases the real strength and depth of the catalogue. Anthems like Crissy Criss & Youngman's 'Kick Snare', Drumsound & Bassline Smith's 'Crossfire' and Tantrum Desire's 'Reach' all get reconfigured to take heads off all over again. The bossmen have even resurrected their Future Tech moniker to give a 2019 upgrade to TECH 001.

And the array of remixers recruited take us all the way across the spectrum of contemporary drum 'n' bass. The likes of Bladerunner and Marky rub shoulders with AMC and The Prototypes...this album is as musically multi-faceted as it is star-studded. Just take a look down the tracklist to see how much there is to discover, taking in dancefloor, jungle, jump-up and more.

In summary, this is how to celebrate a birthday in style. Some of the biggest tracks from the back catalogue given the remix treatment by some of the biggest artists in the scene. Degs’ hit single ‘Poveglia’ and 8-track ‘Mixtape Sprayout’ has made him a drum & bass fan favourite, now he takes centre-stage to unveil his highly anticipated debut album, ‘Letters From Ndgewa’. As well as producing, writing and singing on his tracks, Degs has brought in an all-star collective with S.P.Y, Logistics, Unglued, LSB and Pola & Bryson. His unmistakable charisma is injected across 14 tracks, including his previous singles ‘Levitate Your Mind’ (ft Unglued) and ‘Killer’.

‘Sleepless’ showcases Degs’ versatility as a vocalist. This deep, atmospheric number, produced by Shogun Audio’s Pola & Bryson, wields the art of spoken word and unique lyrical flow for a mesmerising late-night stepper. Degs’ bittersweet soul shines through on ‘Head Trip’ with the production finesse of Phil:osophy. Haunting piano work serves as the foundation for Degs’ silky flows, tear-out rap and snappy hooks. Hospital heavyweight Logistics, a master of liquid D+B, joins the fray on ‘Colour My Soul’ for a sublime track that takes you back to the original Hospital loungecore sound.

Degs’ meteoric rise has taken him worldwide, performing alongside his touring DJ, Lens, at huge summer hotspots like Audioriver, Sun & Bass and Hospitality In The Park. He continues to shine when hosting for some of D+B’s biggest names - London Elektricity, Hybrid Minds, Danny Byrd - and has already received support from BBC Radio 1’s Rene LaVice, Kiss FM’s Andi Durrant, Charlie Tee and Mollie Collins, and Worldwide FM’s Laurent Garnier.
