Drawing from a place of emotion, APRS delves into the rugged and radiant ends of electronic music, culminating in a powerful signature dotted with elegant motifs. With over ten years of experience producing music, the Berlin-based artist has formed a versatile blueprint that sprawls across deep and driving techno, emotive breaks and ethereal ambiences.
 
In the spring of 2024, Spanish label Sungate released APRS' debut EP, followed by a second EP on ARTS in early 2025. APRS' sound blends rich techno rhythms with balmy ambient notes, deep and warm basslines, and airy dub-infused melodies and textures, creating a sense of depth and atmosphere.
 
As a vinyl enthusiast, APRS curates his sets with meticulous selection and graceful flow, blending energetic techno beats with atmospheric elements. His approach invites subtle exploration and experimentation, resulting in cohesive journeys that integrate intense, visceral expression. He has soundtracked renowned venues in Berlin including a recent appearance at Tresor, as well as clubs and festivals in Europe.
 
Collaboration is also integral to his creative process, fostering sound research and enabling the discovery of new areas in electronic music. Working closely with harpist Tancrède, the pair produce live sets in smooth tandem, where the latter weaves the enchanting strings of the electric harp with APRS' machinery.
 
In 2022, APRS co-founded with Serenus the event series Lowpass, centred on the essence of electronic music and committed to diversity, self-expression, and artistic innovation. Lowpass invites established and local artists to perform in various venues across Berlin. In addition to curating the line-ups, APRS often warms up or closes on the night, adapting to transient and packed dancefloors, respectively.
 
Led by an unrushed, explorative approach in the studio, APRS merges emotional vulnerability with maturely crafted sonics, tracing an arc between soothing and searing sounds all the way through.

A vital cog in London’s modern underground, @dj_tasha is celebrating 15 years of her @neighbourhood-music club night with a string of parties this summer. Having come up through the thrilling crossover era of the 2010s, she's folded her d&b roots and deep affinity for techno into an urgent, in-demand sound that keeps her on the road. 

Alongside a stellar sample of her craft recorded at a recent residency night at Open Ground in Wuppertal, she speaks to Oli Warwick about the peaks and troughs of promoting, her friendship with the late Marcus Intalex, and why socks are at the heart of Neighbourhood's family atmosphere.

About Tresor Berlin
At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store, with a unique sound bound to dense fog, building night after night a history that was also a vision of the future.

This history has seen in Jeff Mills’ first sets on three turntables, Underground Resistance's first live appearances in Europe, grandiose Tresor Park parties, to various chapters of the Loveparade with Sven Väth in the 90s and since then countless generation-spanning parties. These moments represent the highlights of infinite personal clubbing experiences. It is the manifestation of the Berlin spirit, emerging from its considerable strife. This history is not without its complications - from temporary closure by the authorities and several raids in the early years to closure and demolition of the old location in 2005. What followed was years of wandering in exile and, finally, resurrection in the new home in Kraftwerk Berlin.

These stories, conversations and shared experiences within our walls forge a resilience that drives towards a shared ideal, the Tresor sound: community, resistance, and the world to come. This was observed in the newly re-unified German youth, who danced and celebrated together from the club’s inception, and into the present day through ongoing community work in Detroit.

To those that have danced before, and to those that will dance in the future: the light at the end of the long Tresor tunnel is a signal. A flicker amidst the fog. This is our future. This is our place.

Manifesting techno as a warped and acerbic tangle of textures, Furtive hesitantly insists on blazing his own trails of unconventional sound design, trying to reconcile techno’s brutal, implacable presence with glittering, gossamer atmospheres, both in his studio work and in DJ sets.

Furtive grew up as a bit of a perpetual cultural outsider: born and raised somewhere in Southern California’s sun-weathered and dusty Inland Empire, but spending many formative years in Berlin, he grew up between three languages and even more histories. Furtive’s musical arc zigzags wildly: from classical music, russian pop, and a formative, fateful exposure to trance in childhood, to trashy metalcore and gabber in high school, and later to the transcendental worlds of gloomy experimental metal, cascadian singer-songwriters, and the thrill of exploring a dear friend’s vinyl collection on sunny afternoons. 

While Furtive’s production is fundamentally techno refracted through these aesthetic and conceptual sensibilities and some wacky studio idiosyncrasies, the real drive for his output is the creative cauldron of Washington, DC. Furtive arrived in the nation’s capital in early 2015, and immediately threw himself into the strange, scuzzy, and enchanting underground spaces of the District. In 2018, Furtive was tapped to join Sequence, and is now part of the colorful collective organizing some of the District’s zaniest techno parties. 

Furtive also moonlights as an illustrator, splattering ink and breaking crayons in the studio. 

Furtive’s world is a riot of color, sensation, and joy.
