Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the Austrian dj & producer Electric Indigo (Indigo Inc. / Ostgut Ton).

Susanne Kirchmayr aka Electric Indigo works as musician, composer and DJ. 
As a composer and musician, she creates music for concert spaces, clubs, sound installations and occasionally for stage plays and short films.
In her compositions and live performances, she emphasizes the spatial-temporal placement of subtly elaborated sounds and structures, often generated from speech recordings.
We are thrilled to have her contribute to our series with this explosive mix which fuses together her different sounds and influences to create a powerful statement of music, culture, passion and more.

BIO:

Formerly known as Milkplant, JX-216 is a new alias developed by veteran San Francisco Techno DJ/Producer, Justin William Pennell over the last several years. Schooled in the Midwest and developed on the West Coast, his work encompasses well over 30 years of combined DJ/production experience, and over 10 years of record label management. 

In 2008 he began the internationally recognized label, From 0-1 with fellow artist Sone. His newly updated live pa debuted at the 2018 Droid and Blank Code Interface/Scene official Movement Festival event at The Works in Detroit; alongside Kr!z, DJ Hyperactive, Vril, Phase, Sophia Saze, and others. Less than two years into his new alias, he’s already had releases signed to Sleaze Records, BEK Audio, Children of Tomorrow, Devotion, Suara, Impact Mechanics, TMM, SUB_tl, Ascetic Ltd., etc.

 His productions have drawn critical acclaim from many notable artists; showing up in mixes and charts by Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Cari Lekebusch, Norman Nodge, Richie Hawtin, Randomer, Joachim Spieth, Tommy Four Seven, Krenzlin, Submerge, Tadeo, Mattias Fridell, Joton, Electric Indigo, David Meiser, Samuli Kemppi, Arnaud Le Texier, Patrick Skoog, Abstract Division, and many others.

He has played in various cities across the US, most notably in Detroit for Interface/Scene at Movement Festival 2016, and 2018. His mixes have been featured on Tbilisi based Dark Underground, Sleaze podcast, Drone podcast, and Error Sessions. In early 2018 he launched 'Konstruct', a monthly Techno event at Underground SF in San Francisco with fellow artist, Rubidium, showcasing talent from across North America and beyond.

TechnoFist Podcast 135: JX - 216 [Oldschool Techno Vinyl Mix]

Today we are a little sentimental, as in 2018 on this date we had our first event featuring Inland, Andy Chiu, Lucas Vazz and X tin! It was definitely a night to remember, and since we are not able to dance together anytime soon, we wanted to give you a little something to remind you that we are still here and the amount of amazing music and talented artists is never-ending and we will be back together on the dancefloor soon!!! 

Mario Manara also known as MNR is an Italian DJ based in Berlin. He first got interested in electronic music in 2015, when he started actively being part of the electronic music scene in Catania. He was often visiting the club ‘’Afrobar’’, which was and still is the most important place for techno in Catania. In typical Italian fashion, Mario quickly made contacts in the scene and had the chance to start playing and practicing the craft of DJing. This was the moment, when he realized that he would love to get deeper into the culture, the music and the scene and make his contribution. 

With a big dedication, determination and deriving inspiration from artists like Osacr Mulero, Svreca, Function, and Kr!z to name a few, Mario quickly learned and his talent was immediately recognized by the ‘’Afrobar’’ club programming team. They started booking him for warm up or closing sets around their main acts. MNR had the chance to play alongside DJs such as Marcel Dettmann and Parish Smith. Soon after this, he was booked all over Catania for different events! 

Two years ago, Mario decided to make a move towards Berlin and put his DJ plans forward. Since then, he has been learning and developing his taste and DJ style and artist identity beyond what was imaginable in Italy. In 2019, he joined the SEHNSUCHT Kollective as a resident in Milan, where he had the chance to play their most recent event this past February in Milan. The idea behind SEHNSUCHT is offering new up and coming artists the space and crowd to express themselves.  As part of the collective, he also goes under the Meinoon alias together with Luca. Meinoon performed once in Berlin at BASEMENT, but unfortunately, due to the current global situation all further events are cancelled.

Chris Stanford is the boss of Prodigal Son Records, which hosts a wealth of talent as displayed in its discography. It continues to grow as the label embarks on 5 years in the making. He’s known as strong supporter of new artists & new music, always seaking fresh tracks that push the sound forward but also hold the traditional values of underground dance music. His sound builds on emotion, with hints of nostalgia and always an element of moodiness, which he gets from his UK rave scene roots. 

He has quite the reputation for his stripes he earned in a ton of London venues over the years. He has held lengthy notable residencies, a veteran on its scene of which has seen him perform in many European cities. 

Chris was of the original founding EarToGround crew with early collaborations with close friend Dax J, he has released music in the past but his passion has always been to release and play others music, hence his involvement within a handful of labels since 2008. But its behind decks is where he finds himself true to his trade and to himself as no nonsense DJ through and through...

One of the leading names in Paris’ contemporary scene, Zadig is one of the main forces responsible for  the return of the City of Light to worldwide prominence as a centre for forward-looking techno. A  participant in the ‘90s French rave scene in the hardcore and acid days, Sylvain Peltier found his true  inspiration with the arrival of Mills, Surgeon, and Beltram and labels like Tresor, Lost, and Synewave  and the techno that his style remains rooted in to this day.
Starting in 2011, he launched his Construct Re-Form label, which has  gone on to a residency at the legendary Rex Club Paris

With Paris’ resurgent club scene blossoming to worldwide attention not seen since the ‘90s, it is the  dedicated efforts of those like Sylvain Peltier who have helped to bring about this revival and continue to  lead it to new heights. As Zadig, as a label head, as a DJ, and as a central figure in its continued growth,  he is an essential figure in its present and a leading light for its future.
