About the mix: "I live in Chicago and came up as a deejay here (just celebrated by 10 years of publically deejaying in September!) so while I always think about House music as a track with a certain kick and hat pattern, frequently with pianos, vocals, and horns; I think about the original reason House music was called House, simply because it was the kind of music played at the Warehouse. I think that any music that is played in Chicago can then be dubbed as House music because it’s in whatever “House” you are deejaying in. Because Chicago is my artistic home, this mix features a ton of songs that I have frequented in the club recently. Some can be considered house, some can’t, but because at the end of the day, House is about fun, I wanted this mix to be fun. I was struggling with how to approach it until I let go a bit and was like, just play, you do this all the time. This mix is giving so it’s called the It’s Giving Mix. You can dance to it, study to it, fuck to it, honestly it’s very malleable for whatever situation you’re in."

Composer, producer, and DJ dragongirl has recorded a mix for us featuring some of her own tracks too. Having released her critically acclaimed debut album 'hot blue' on the Norwegian label Sheep Chase Records in 2023, dragongirl has since brought her vibrant sound to some of Northern Europe's most well-known clubs and festivals including Denmark's Den Anden Side, Berlin's OST and OXI, and Kaleido Festival. Her sets blend trance, techno and happy hardcore with influences from Eurodance, gabber and EDM, inviting her audience on a playful and unexpected adventure.
