Fuse is a disco at 208 rue Blaes in the Marolles district of the Belgian capital Brussels. The business was opened in 1994 and has a capacity of 800 people.

The location of the current Fuse initially housed a neighborhood cinema that changed its name several times: Cinema Blaes (1925-1933), Cinema Iris (1934-1940) and finally Cinema R.A.F. (1947-71). Later Le Disque Rouge, a disco where many Spaniards came here. This business was taken over by the West Flemish Thierry Coppens and Peter Decuypere, who turned it into disco Fuse in 1994.

Coppens has organized the gay party La Demence since 1989, which has taken place every month in the Fuse since then. Together with Decuypere he saw a bright future for the music genre techno and the Fuse became one of the best techno clubs in the world. The business was also named best club in Belgium by the Belgian entertainment magazine Nightcode and DJ Pierre as the best Belgian resident DJ.

Peter Decuypere left Fuse in 1997 to focus on his event I Love Techno in Ghent. Thierry Coppens sold discotheque Fuse at the end of 2007 to his friends Nick Ramoudt and Dominique Martens in order to dedicate himself entirely to La Demence.

In 2013, Fuse, as the best Belgian discotheque, finished 34th on the DJ Magazine's list of 100 best clubs in the world. Fuse was praised for its timelessness and quirky character and "the new lasers and LED screens describe the location as a place where ET would feel at home."

- Who is ABSTRS?
I’m a Dj/producer and promotor from Stockholm, although based in Gothenburg since many years, As a promotor I co-run underground collective TEKLA, as well as running my own night under OBALANS. As a producer I have released on labels such as SLR and Lett Records.

- What is your thought behind this mix?
Since I haven’t played a dance floor in months because of the pandemic, my thought was to keep this mix a bit slower than usual and perhaps a bit more eclectic. I love fast paced 4/4, but I think this mix really captures my mood at the moment.


- How do you describe your musical style?
I try and keep it raw and industrial, but I also want to leave room for tracks ranging from electro to EBM. I think a good DJ set need to break off from it’s main style now and then, to keep it interesting

Fierce on FNOOB radio show is a platform for showcasing the talents of womxn and non-binary techno DJs and producers.

This month's guest is Dublin-based hard techno @djcinquedea (Deborah Grattan).
Having been a member of the techno community for the guts of 30 years, and a singer, songwriter, and performer for most of her life – most notably with her band Eat Me Drink Me – Cinquedea decided to follow her passion for techno and performance by becoming a DJ and music producer in 2020.
She has a show on Dublin’s long running pirate and internet radio station Power Expect Hard Techno, Acid, jacking beats, and the odd curveball!
