Muumimaa on Wednesday night 01:45-03:30.   

Very thankful to the Muumimaa crew to be invited back to @muumimaa to play on the Wednesday night this year's Borderland! 

The inspiration for the set came from the 3 months long sailing-trip from Turkey to Sweden that I just completed. Most of the song selection was done during sailing at night when all I had to keep me awake was the fullmoon and my music collection, and so I prepared a wonky full energy set for the rowdy and sweaty crowd that I was so much longing to meet after life at sea… There's few remixes of old familiar tracks in there (Beatles, Laruie Andersson, The Beloved) and overall a lot of vocals this time around. Perhaps it was that human closeness that I was longing for out there surrounded by the un-inhabitable ocean…

All in all it’s a high-energy set starting off with some attitude “Til my baby gets back” from Fulltone onwards into a few afro-house tracks including a remix of Uncle Waffles “Tanzania”, and then into a crescendo of some hypnotic techno tracks mixed with some more bouncy house tracks to keep the sweaty vibes going… Ending with a song from my childhood heroes - the KLF - who I actually think was burning a wooden man (and a million quid) way before burning man was a thing (check out what they did with “rites of MU”)… all onboard all onboard onboard! toot toot! hope you enjoyed! :-)

Schooled as a classical cellist, Techstil combines the hypnotic rhythm of techno with warm acoustic presence, and timeless geometrical melodies. Growing up with Kraftwerk he fell in love with analogue synthesizers at early age, and by 2006 he started DJ’ing in the underground clubs of Malmö. By 2008 he  followed the Basic Channel-beats to Berlin to participate in the evolution of the Berlin sound. After 4 years in Berlin he turned to a warmer slower sound, inspired by heavy base from Panorama bar, and never-ending weekends at Bar25... After many years in Helsinki, Finland he recently moved to Stockholm where he plays hypnotic deep house and dubby techno from labels like Sol Selectas, Giegling, Molt, Hypnus, Trolldans, Permanent Vacation and Diynamic
