Exploring youth and a time without inhibition, Alan Johnson collaborate with Liam Higgins and creative studio dsplaced on the music video for 'Glory Days', the title track from their latest release on the YUKU label. Looking back at feelings from childhood, the video looks to capture glimpses of the freedom of youth that for most, often further alludes us over time.

Safar Collective and Antariksh Records present a joint label release by Bangalore-based DJ/ Producer, XS.

XS brings his latest EP – Existential – featuring 2 original tracks and 4 remixes by I7HVN, Flux Vortex, and Aezron. The release explores the human condition, unraveling the intricate ways we navigate the labyrinth of existence. It challenges the notion that meaning is an external gift and instead asserts that it is a deeply personal creation, forged in the crucible of choice and experience.

Musically, the release traverses the lower end of the sonic spectrum, ranging from abstract, jungle-inspired atmospheres to the murky undercurrents of DnB soundscapes, culminating in club-rocker tunes.

The opening track, Dread, embodies the existential struggle, reflecting the fear and uncertainty of navigating this quotidian life. It captures the tension of carving out your identity, much like clay, in a world that often resists novelty and individuality.

In contrast, Feel Nice serves as a reflective counterpoint, a calm defiance to the existential turmoil of Dread. Its slow, evolving bassline symbolises a gradual emergence from chaos into catharsis, breaking through the constraints to unearth the deeper truth: that each person, through their unique encounters and relationships, ultimately shapes their essence.

Thematically, the release mirrors existentialism’s invitation to embrace life’s uncertainties and accept the profound responsibility of crafting one’s purpose amidst the flux of reality.

Our first release, out November 2009.
You can immediately hear the 2 step garage influence in the drum lines. Asusu perfectly couples those skipping beats with bass and melody in these two tracks to produce tunes with incredible pace and drive. More than just re-creating garage though Asusu fuses elements of it with a feel of dubstep bass wieght and techno melodic elements. Deep and meditative but still very much tracks for the dancefloor.
