We resume our mission to deliver more quality music, now with the labels first release of 2018 from rising names in the scene Revaux, with the title track 'Colours' featuring another ascending starlet, Charli Brix.

Colours itself has been a while in the works, but Revaux and Charli have well and truly out done themselves on this track, and as a label, we couldn't want to kick off the year in better way. With a strong message to boot, we don't think this one will be fading away anytime soon.

Revaux then went in on the flip 'Trainwreck', rolling out a bad boy smasher to really complete the release. We feel the Leeds brothers Joe and Ru are properly showcasing their potential with this single, and we're seriously proud to be able to put this one out for them.

What with drum & bass becoming ever more international, at Lifestyle we wanted to champion this fact and help shine a spotlight on the growing scenes outside of the UK. After last years landmark ‘Australian Connection LP’ we have turned our attention slightly closer to home, this time having organised the ‘Belgian Connection LP’.

Belgium is country that has been synonymous with a strong rise in dnb in recent times, and we felt this country was the perfect place to launch the next release in our ‘Connection’ series.

The producers from the land of beer and chocolate have really delivered, showcasing an all-round album with a little bit of something for everyone. Liquid, Half-time, Neuro, Tech, Rollers, whatever you want to call it, this release has it…

We see this as another real defining moment for us as a label and Belgian drum & bass, and we couldn’t be prouder to be releasing this with our friends from just across the channel.

The album sampler gives first light to 3 tracks from the LP, with Belgian heavyweights Bredren laying it down with their trademark sound in ‘Aversive’, the unstoppable duo M-zine & Scepticz providing the epic ‘Welter, and young upstart Lavance causing all kinds of chaos with ‘Blitzkrieg’.

Next up on Lifestyle we celebrate our past year of releases, and give a sneaky look into the future of the label; it’s the Lifestyle Annual 2018!

This Annual marks an important moment in the life of the label; for the past couple of months we've had our heads down, thinking about what's important to us here at HQ and how to revise our look a bit. This has resulted in a fresh approach to our brand and a more refined visual style moving forward into 2019, we are very excited about it and can't wait to show you what's in store!

We’ve knocked our heads together and picked out 16 choice cuts of prime Lifestyle material from the past year, tunes that have stood out to each of us as the finest our label had to offer in 2018. We tried to keep it reasonably varied, but didn’t do so well, so expect a heavy concentration of that deep dark tech inside, as well as a splattering of other distinct sounds. 

While we have got some of the Lifestyle ‘anthem’ tunes in there, we’ve also been careful to include some for the real heads, tunes that some might have missed first time round, that we reckon deserve excavating and rinsing out. 

As if this wasn’t enough, we’ve also thrown in 10 brand-new tracks, featuring some very close connections! A lot of these tracks are from new voices we’ve just started listening to in the scene, and to make it extra personal, four of the ten tracks come from the team here at the label! Mandie, Jamie, Jono & Mersen (+ Ken) dug in and came out with some tracks of their own for the release, including the first ever release for Combine with ‘Retrograde’, a super-vibey deep liquid banger. This exclusively personal touch is the cream on the cake of this release, which itself crowns what was the best year for our label yet. 

We hope you enjoy this release as much as we enjoyed putting it together. We’re deeply indebted to all the artists we’ve worked with over the past year and beyond, without them making the tunes, and you lot buying the tunes, this label would be nothing, so we’re forever grateful for all your support in 2018, and hope we do you proud this year. We’ve got some big plans in the pipeline that we can’t wait to let you all know about, so make sure to stay connected and informed!
