This mixtape is a round up of my recent collaborations and remixes organized around a little exercise: each track of mine is mixed in and out of tracks that have somehow influenced said Teki track. My taste in electronic music covers quite a wide spectrum and the tracks i co-produce and/or chose to put some vocals over are sometimes going in different, some might think opposite directions. With this mix i was trying to explain the weird logic behind it all, to show why it all makes perfect sense to me by highlighting the missing links between my works. I also wanted to demonstrate how my tracks and the directions i choose to take in my music are (humbly) made to be interpreted as "missing links" between these classic tracks I love. As usual with most of my solo mixes this was mixed completely live with my CDJs in the mighty computer room, so please excuse the occasional "ruggedness" of it: this is how i like it, and i hope you will enjoy it too. For the 200th edition, just before HER 他 marks its fifth anniversary, joining the celebration is Berlin-based lesbian icon DJ AYA https://soundcloud.com/djayaya, co-head of (lip) service.

Zurich-born and Berlin-based, DJ AYA has a talent for amplifying the vitality, sexiness, and energy of any dancefloor. Their intention is always “to bring the queers to dance,” drawing inspiration from Berlin’s local scene while exploring underground communities in cities like Istanbul and Tokyo.

AYA’s love of UK bass, developed during a seven-year stint in London, sparked their passion for electronic music. This bass-driven groove and playfulness have shaped AYA’s approach to mixing, which blends clean, immersive techno kicks with diasporic influences such as grime vocals and reggaeton beats.

In just a few years, AYA’s career has soared, with a packed schedule of weekly gigs at standout venues like Khidi in Tbilisi, Boiler Room sets in Lisbon and Berlin, and Live From Earth’s Panorama Bar showcase.

Since 2020, HER 他 has released a new mix on SoundCloud every week and offers an open-call submission opportunity to all. HER 他 is a weekly mixtape and event series, as well as a platform that focuses on supporting women and minorities. Represented by the Chinese character "他" (Ta), which symbolizes a genderless identity.

For its milestone 200th edition, HER 他 is excited to feature DJ AYA as the special guest.
