I loved working through the journey from dark to light - starting expansive and bassy and moving towards progressive and melodic 🌈✨ Thank you to everyone who danced through the night and called in the sunrise with me! Set from Laundry Bar - Melbourne for an Unofficial Fred Again.. After Party.

Had 3 hours to prepare a set due to a last minute decision to throw this gig to introduce a Fred Again Tribute Set with some Tech/Bass House and got told I was following a Korean Hip Hop night... then upon arriving to the venue got told the usual crowd would all leave within 30 seconds once their headliner finished. and even their Headliner was like "Are you seriously going to play Skrillex?". Well yes Mr Korean man, i never thought i'd see the day either, but here we are...

...and guess who kept the motherfkn party goooooin?

I'd never even heard of Fred Again until this ridiculous chaos Melbourne just witnessed, but I'm glad this all influenced this one of a kind gig. - My proudest set yet.

Starlight Thursdays Episode 157. Welcoming Shane Dee to the series. I’ve personally been really excited to get to know Shane over the phone recently. We still haven’t met in person and I gotta say I’m really looking forward to hearing him play live. He’s been into rave culture for over two decades and has DJed at a bunch of parties and festivals such as Meltdown (Dallas), Afterlife (Dallas), Fire! (Dallas), Epyklandia (Las Vegas), Regional Burning Man events (Nevada) Trance Arson (Las Vegas), and Ritual (Las Vegas) just to name a few. Shane currently resides in Billings MT and has been getting involved with the scene out there as well as other parts of the state. I gotta say he mixes Techno in ways that just feels so right.

Why did you get into it? 
Fell in love with it after learning how to spin vinyl while stationed overseas. I Was fortunate enough to meet a guy from Detroit that’s big brother was really big in the Detroit techno scene and ended up giving me a bunch of crates full of old techno records, and I bought a pair of Technic 1200’s and Been at it ever since lol. 

What inspires you about DJing and electronic music? 
New Music, Old music. Music!! People. The DJ culture is filled with some amazing people! I am very grateful to have met some really special people that have inspired me throughout the years.

Can you tell us a little bit about your mix? 
“Welcome to Rave mountain.” The mix starts out with everyone approaching the mountain and everyone gets excited as the music gets more intense as they get closer to rave mountain. Otherworldly. Heavy, Dark, Trance vibes.

Sneaking in just under the wire with this mix, I present to you for the month of May, a collection of tracks that are dark, moody and deeply moving. This is indeed an introspective mix designed for zoning out. It features an entirely new genre for me: deep trance. I have also included some hypnotic trance and some deeper progressive house tunes. Rolling in at 124 bpm it is definitely on the mellow side.
