This debut track is about loyalty. The progressive piano & sultry saxophone heard throughout, guide you through a story, describing the modern-day accessibility to romantic temptation. 'Dessert's' climax is a messy and strong-bodied conclusion to which listeners may relate if they have been in the protagonist's shoes. This track highlights the importance of monogamy, and the fragility of trust, in any relationship. 

Written in 2019, around the peak time of online dating in my social circle, 'Dessert' should evoke a complex cocktail of human feelings and emotions promoting self determination and choice. Similar to those found by my friends during this period.

We wanted to be faithful to the natural talent of the musicians as much as possible during the recording of this song so that it could be replicated live. The piano, saxophone, guitar & bass were recorded in the studio live creating this upbeat & stompy composition.

North Star

A tribute to the sad passing of David Bowie. Seen through the eyes of a fellow musician inspired by Bowies originality and endurance. Steeped with Bowiesque references and underlying glam rock vibe. It's the opening track of Tenderhooks's soon to be release 6th album called Skeleton Dance.

Stardust Memories

I'd been tinkering with my recording software trying out some riffs and learning how to loop sections of song quickly, and afterwards, just for fun,  got some words together and made this. Not to be taken seriously, and as rough as a badger's bottom, but several people I've played it to liked it so....   (PS No I'm never going to try and do it live, even if I eventually gain full mastery of the looper pedal!)

A track I produced and created myself, its not been mastered and I have only been doing production this past year, self taught and self motivated. 

I am putting this up because I just feel like sharing it and want to have some feedback, ive been holding onto my music because I never think its good enough. I am breaking that mould and just sharing it with you so at least someone can hear it other than me!  I hope you enjoy x

Colours

Tenderhooks are a Brighton based 4 piece band. Markus Leinweber singer/piano/writer, Mike Phillips on bass, Murdo on drums/producing and Charles Cronje on rhythm guitar/singer/writer/producer. Their alt rock, Madness, Ian Dury, Blur style give the band a unique vibe. Their set is packed with uplifting original classics that encompass a wide range of different musical genres. 
The band are releasing their 11th album called Album 11 in late November 2025

'Ma Ma Mr. Nice' is a really upbeat slice of indie rock with a bit of experimentation from the electronic side of things which they have managed to blend into their sound pretty nicely. In a way Tenderhooks remind me of my favourite American soft rock band The Presidents of the United States of America, Tenderhooks are just a slight bit softer and a lot more poppy.
