A compilation "FEF RMX" with remixed tracks of the Lithuanian duo Far East Flight will be released on the label Electric Shapes on June 17.

For this premiere we picked a shining trans remix by our longtime mate Konstantin Isaev aka Rambal Cochet. It's perfect for the morning dance floor in the forest. At least you can easy imagine it.

PREMIERE: Far East Flight — Massacre On Clouds (Rambal Cochet's Trans Mix) (Electric Shapes, 2022)

New releases by label boss Imanol include two remixes by Mahkina AKA Alex Aguayo and Giama respectively.

These three original tracks are inspired by the global crises between pandemic, war and devastated markets bringing the old school break sound to our ears and the usual house we provide hand in hand with these three Latin American artists

Groovie bassline accompanied by classical synthesizers with a lot of arpeggiators and endless dance loops. "Hundidos" (sunken) has some original vocals by Imanol itself and the lyrics indicate the aforementioned concept. Break N°2 is a part two dub version of the first track produced with similar instruments. "Dr. Jekyll y el Mr. Hyde" samples a Cortázar reflection of loneliness which frames very well what the pandemic was for the artist.

They'd been travelling for as long as they could remember, on course for an unknown destination. Life had become nomadic, they no longer had a firm base or home, but they'd learnt that this could be wherever they laid their hat. Being tied down didn't suit them, it was adventure and new experiences they were after. Sure enough it didn't matter where their path took them, those unforgettable escapades seemed to always follow suit.

Almost a year ago, Lithuanian imprint Electric Shapes shared the first ever release from Far East Flight. Made up of producers Dovydas Platakis & Gedas Mekšriūnas - AKA Jokios Kultūros and Adventure Society, respectively - the project's debut eponymous EP showcased their love for all things trance, from psychedelic Goa to progressive cosmic rollers and shamanistic psy-trance. Now they're breathing new life into the release with an extensive remix LP that brings together artists who tread similar sonic paths, including the likes of Anatolian Weapons, Rambal Cochet, New Veuboten and our pick from Black Seed, who take the originals into downtempo, psychedelic and off kilter territories.

Following on from Tu Sei Pazza, Daniel Monaco returns to the Bordello with the bitter taste of the TB303 on his tongue. Acid Maria smoulders with the intensity of a Belgian new beat banger circa 1989. Smoky words whisper over rusted rhythms before the fog and strobe take hold. Cold strings haunt with snaking coils of 303 squawk growing ever bolder in this intense track. The flip is divided into two very different remixes. First up is Curses who approaches the piece in his own unique way. The fanfare and frigid lines of the original are expanded. Strings come care of guitars as a bright synth wave reimaging unfolds, a reimaging with one of the most daring breaks you are likely to ever hear. Younger Than Me close. This interpretation adds a fevered tone to the original. BPMs rise and pitches are pushed while chilly notes soon balloon into a frenzy to bring a full floor energy. Three tracks born to bring brimming basements into the beyond.

Daniel Monaco - Acid Maria (Younger Than Me Remix)

The Queer Northern-Ireland born Cormac revered by peers, queers and artists alike is marking the end of the year with a first curated VA compilation under his belt on his multidisciplinary imprint Polari Records. The release is out 15th of November, 2022.

"No Tears In The Backroom Vol.1" is a heady 8-track VA featuring the already established Polari affiliates as well as alluring newcomers to the label. Cormac‘s Polari Compilation serves as an unpretentious boisterous sonic outing and it offers a fun and loving home to the Polari chosen family.

"This is the first Polari Compilation and I'm happy to present such a strong debut. The title is in reference to a lyric from my track "Sparks". Sometimes I receive tracks that don't quite fit an EP or story, so the tracks featured are in one way stand alone tracks, but they also make sense as part of a family. They are a family of Polari rogues I guess, rogues that I love a lot." - says Cormac.

Although featuring varied vibrant tracks from a diverse palette of artists, No Tears In The Backroom Vol. 1 remains cohesive throughout. The compilation includes contributions from Davis, Brynjolfur, Timothy Clerkin, Hard Ton, REES, ROTCIV, Sean Den and Budino.
