SELF starts 2024 with an international affair. Electric Vandalism is the logical result of decentralized networking that has never been dependent on the "pay for play" logic of agenda-setting magazines and platform gatekeepers. On the contrary, we are definitely interested in abolishing it - see the title of "12".

A1) Viikatory starts "03" with Autobahn-pads and an assertive beat, which develops in a straight line in the second drop, giving the bassline extra life. Many people know the newcomer from Minsk from our tape compilation or from her gig at Leipziger Neue Welle.

A2) In "I Need Your Energy", Swedes Luke Eargoggle & Freddy lay a catchy melody over the 808 pattern, which develops a certain Modern Trips quality in combination with the repeating dialog. Luke runs the legendary label Stilleben Records.

A3) The West Coast Dutchman Edo8 is no stranger to Clone, if you know what I mean. With "BreakOne" he aims straight towards Detroit jit in tempo and style. The syncopated, floating bass barely catch its breath between saturated drums. This track will fire up the deviant electro kids at the end of the A-side.

B1) We were able to introduce Olivia, a producer from Krakow, at the first label party at mjut in Leipzig. She regularly releases tracks on the Rotterdam label Pinkman and forms the duo Radiation 30376 with Chino. Her track "Grzybnia" aptly fits perfectly with the interwoven filter movements over the harsh industrial beat.

B2) DJ Unisex brings the pulse down cold with "Conflict Data", makes the subjects despair under vibrating mirrors and nails the claustrophobic groove with a perfect acid line. What is grace?

B3) The Frankfurt electrodefender has the answer with his forgiving "Cronberg In A Dream": dopamine synth pads point to the funk dancefloor, the white sneakers are ready and the red tracksuit demands robotic moves. After the vandalism, the sun always rises again.

The artwork for the 12" EP was created by Amelie Göppel from Leipzig.

Machine Cult is an electronic music platform hosted by Déandrah and Garçon Taupe. Functions on one side as a record label. On the other, an event series. The launch party will be taking place in OT301 (Amsterdam) on the 25th of November. The purpose is to showcase a part of what the local and international scene the Netherlands has to offer. Hereby presenting Edition One.

Scouring from the surfaces of Amsterdam and Rotterdam comes out six original tracks composed by the following artists. Déandrah (AMS), Garçon Taupe (AMS), marienus (RTM), Moodswings (AMS), The Spy (AMS) and xceptor (RTM).

In a world where we have too many choices, but not enough guts to pursue any of them, motivational speaking and councillors become the next billionaires, to inject the fearful with confidence so that they may excel at their passion and make the world a better place by self-adoration, collaboration and not competition.

 Intricacies of noise, self-development of taste and homages to past times, the edition before you is a compilation of works from newcomers and scene veterans. Having captured the face of a pseudo-mentalist, these artists have noted the effect of the long exposure to sound that may have affected their biomechanical characteristics. 
For a while, you will discover new things, and it is all so exciting and fresh, because this altered state gives you new perception, in and hindsight. Music theory, out of all things, can also have some pretty nasty effects on your body. All of it can mean you can start suffering long before you become a musician. 
You’ll probably start looking ill, losing weight and feeling like you might deserve it.You’ll begin to play instruments not to get high anymore, but only because that is your new standardised norm. You simply don’t know what else to do. As you lose control of your body’s health you could eventually lose control over your mind too. 
Until one day you’ll wake up knowing that, instead of continuing investing yourself in your instruments, they slowly become controlling towards you. So, if a friend invites you to a jam session, use your brain, while you still can. And just, say, yes.

steeped deep in the waters of memory, Privacy (@privacyprivacy) dreams up visions of electro music's past, present and future on his inaugural EP for TRUST. the revered producer (of Klakson and Klasse Wrecks fame, half of Negroni Nails together with Steffi) channels the energy of his genre-busting DJ journeys into four tracks that straddle a set of influences as diverse as discoid techno, west coast electro, and far fiction dubstep in deliriously asynchronous fashion.
