I used a neural network trained on Spotify data to produce a playlist based on joining the dots between the following tracks:

Aretha Franklin - Respect
James Brown - I Got You (I Feel Good)
Jurassic 5 - Lesson 6 The Lecture
Roni Size - Terrible Funk
Sven Väth - Eclipse

It had  a library of 8,000 MP3s to choose from, spanning all the genres you can think of from Opera, Latin, African, Disco to Spoken Word. The interesting thing is that the algorithm was trained by simply *listening* to the tracks - it knows nothing about the artists, songs or actual genres. Any repetitions are due to the existence of multiple copies of the same track in my library.
