[30/05/2025] Chapter: The Virtues of the Companions of the Messenger ﷺ – Explanation of Kitāb As-Sunnah from Sunan Ibn Mājah [Lesson 117] – By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul-Wāhid حفظه الله.


Some points covered by Abu Khadeejah حفظه الله during this lesson:

- The Virtues of the Companions of the Messenger ﷺ [Part 27]

- Ḥadīth #161.

- Clarification that this ḥadīth is not specific for Ahlul-Badr.

- The best of the Ṣaḥābah (رضى الله عنهم أجمعين).

- The reason for this ḥadīth, and those addressed in it.

- The intent of “أَصْحَابِي”.

- “Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquering (of Makkah) (with those among you who did so later). Such are higher in degree than those who spent and fought afterwards. - The reason for the lofty station of the early Companions that no one after them can ever reach.

- The reality of many Muslims today who compromise and relinquish the outward dress code connected to the dīn due to the mockery of the people.

- The example of Shaykh Muqbil (رحمه الله) and the hardships and opposition he endured in order to spread Salafiyyah.

- Shaykh al-Albānī’s (رحمه الله) unwavering stance on Palestine despite being mocked and abused.

- Imām Aḥmad (رحمه الله) on taking the Companions as our examples.

- Ḥadīth #162.

- A great amount done by other than the Companions can never equate to an amount done by them.

- The tremendous reward for the Companions who conveyed the Book and the Sunnah to us.

- The burden of sin carried by the mubtadi’.

- The ruling of this statement of Ibn ‘Umar (رضى الله عنهما) [i.e. Ḥadīth #162].

- Gathering between this ḥadīth and the ḥadīth which mentions that those who hold on to the dīn at the end of time will get the reward of fifty of the Companions.

- A benefit regarding al-Asmā’ al-Mufradah in the Science of Ḥadīth.
