“lift me gently” is a groovy deep house track with male vocals. Warm sub bass, soft blooming pads, and crisp, unhurried percussion create a steady lift that never breaks the calm. The vocal sits breath close and intimate, a restrained baritone that moves from spoken softness to light melody, guiding the room rather than pushing it.

The track unfolds slowly so the groove can breathe. You count your breathing to the tempo, gravity goes quiet, corners turn kind. Small details do the heavy lifting: a hush in the highs, a glow in the mids, a bassline that holds you steady while the melody opens a window to the sky.

Reggae Got Swing vol.2

I haven't done a serious mix in a while and somehow it ended up being a blend of melancholy blues, swing and heaps of tropical courtesy of some of my favourite producers at the moment. 

The last time I did a mix I was still using vinyl so I wanted to experiment with sorting one out entirely digitally. It's not as easy as it should be...mostly just difficult keeping the quality up after having had to rerecord MP3s at altered tempos for the mixes. If any of the artists featured in the mix feel like sending me full wavs or aifs of their tunes then I'd be delighted to slot them back in at higher quality. Here's the tracklist.

Señor Griff's tropical blues mix

One of my favorite festivals in the World is the Radio Meuh Circus Festival nestled in the small ski village of Clusaz in the French Alps. It was quite an honor & excitement to play an entire night start to finish to kick off the 2019 festival with my partner in Turntables on the Hudson sound system, Nappy G on percussion. Although his drum head broke in the middle of the night, he managed to make magic & keep the rhythms flowing till the end freestyle with me on the CDJ's making beats, him rocking the broken congas & a beautiful charged up crowd keeping the energy very high! We get down anywhere anytime full of passion & heart & if you can imagine this very packed crowd sweating all up on top of each other, dancing, smiling, grinding, drinking... you get the idea of a Radio Meuh, Turntables on the Hudson, Alps, Nile, Ramblas, Danube, Ipanema, Caribbean vibes!
