This is part 2 of some improvisational recordings I made with Pat Howell's beautiful handcrafted-from-a -kit dreadnought acoustic guitar.  Part 1 details the guitar's journey a little more and here I wanted Pat to hear his guitar in drop D tuning, and I thought you'd like to hear it too:)

Diffraction

Recorded last year my first notes on this track when mixed started with the word 'madness'.
Somewhat refined by editing the structure is ABCBDBEBB...
'B' could represent both bridge and breakdown...the heart of the piece and the initial musings on a alto sax/flute riff that sort of drifted off into improvised ramblings.
Other sections feature flute solo, melodica/synth, distorted clarinet and soprano sax in celtic mode and rumbling triple tongued bass-effect alto sax.
Behind it all (somewhere) is a chugging thai violin. 
Still somewhat crazy.

What absolute joy I have been able to experience in recent weeks by working together with these three eminent musicians, composers and producers.
Dan-DT, Ed Cunningham and David Dunham. It's the first time all four of us have collaborated and the result is "The Quietude".
