Narcissists is a independent electronic music project from Preston, Lancashire. Established in 2022, and releasing their debut album Opening Move the same year.

Opening Move, combines retro influences with an energetic, modern rock sound, not disimilar from Harry Styles or The Strokes. 

Opening Move saw some exposure upon release on Wythenshawe FM Radio, The Amos Madra Show and Amazing Radio Afternoons.

In November 2022, performing live atop an art gallery in Manchester, Narcissists made their live debut at the ABC Building, playing on the roof of the gallery in the glass amphitheatre as part of an event organised by House of Art and Heads Magazine.

Narcissists were also interviewed and featured in an article published by Blossom Magazine, an organisation also based in Manchester.

In December 2022, Narcissists performed at The Ferret, a legendary live music venue in Preston, Lancashire. Supporting popular rock band Sugarstone in a bid to save struggling venues affected by the pandemic.

In 2023, Narcissists released King's Gambit, their second studio album. The album featured a post-modern, electronically woven sound. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of electronic styles.

Dark Skies was used as the official soundtrack to popular Internet soap opera "Skew Bridge," crafted by the team from award winning playwriter Jim Cartwright.

This piece will be performed at the Mostly Modern Festival next June by the American Modern Ensemble. This is a Work in Progress Mock Up before the Premiere.

Program Note:
This chamber piece delves into the vibrant musical traditions of Morocco, particularly those of the Amazigh people, the heart and soul of the Atlas Mountains. The earthquake of September 8th, 2023, cast a long shadow, especially in these mountainous regions where many Amazigh people reside. While the loss of life across Morocco was significant, the music itself transcends sorrow.

It explores the transformative power of music in the face of loss, reflecting the Amazigh belief in celebrating life even after a period of mourning. In their culture, grief eventually gives way to music and dance, a beautiful way to honour departed loved ones. This spirit of resilience and celebration infuses the very essence of this piece.

The evocative melodies of the High Atlas, often accompanied by unique percussion wind and stringed instruments, become a testament to the enduring spirit of the Amazigh people.  This work serves as the first movement of a larger suite exploring the rich tapestry of Moroccan music. It's a personal interpretation, where the threads of tradition and contemporary influences are intricately woven together.

While this piece aspires to offer a humble tribute to those lost in the earthquake and celebrate the enduring strength and vibrant cultural heritage of the Amazigh people and Moroccans in general, it ultimately seeks to foster a cross-cultural conversation. This creative interplay, however modest a contribution, seeks to transcend borders, enriching the global artistic landscape and building bridges of understanding across diverse cultures. Ultimately, this composition is a celebration of life, resilience, and the unifying power of music.

Released May 10th, 2024, Soul Killer is the latest single by The Lucidia Project. It features a full production by Danny Meyer of Sunway studios in Germany. Featuring lush string arrangements, haunting lead guitar lines, heavy rhythm and bass guitar, and death metal inspired drumming, Soul killer represents an evolution on the bands sound. Piano melodies are also found throughout this song. Vocally, the song features both smooth melodic vocals juxtaposed with harsh vocals. Brit Pop, Swing, and Rock'n'Roll represent the dawn of a new era, while Indie Pop, Chamber Pop, and even a wedding march musically underscore the hope and the gradual blossoming of new dreams. But the shadows of the past are still present, captured in melancholic ballads, a sad piano piece, psychedelic folk, spiritual hip-hop, and powerful post-rock. Even punk rock finds its place, expressing the regained freedom and zest for life.

This music is a sonic tapestry of the post-war era, a tribute to the will to survive, the importance of family, and the strength of the human spirit. It captures the ambivalence of this epoch: The burden of memory and the simultaneous spirit of optimism, the grief for what was lost and the hope for a new beginning.

Ladat, born Ladislav Tesar, is Litomerice (Czech republic) native, body and soul, who writes and composes his music in Chatel-St-Denis, Switzerland.
