I think they were good lyrics. They paint a pollution filled world and offer a Utopian one.

Rocket: You didn't want to make things perfect. You just hated things the way they are.

So I asked Jasper if he wanted to collab and he said yes. I sent him ‘Say It Again’ saying it would be nice to get the drums done on them by next month. He sends me Thermal Ghosts with the lyrics, and tells me he’s going for ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ and I get it done  in a day. He asks me if I like the instrumental and ‘yeah.’ It’s not the most mind-blowing prod but it has a pretty good groove. He sends me a minute of the song so I sing 1 minute worth of lyrics. He wants me to loop it so that it goes longer. I ask him for a favor saying could he please loop his own song. So he copies and pastes the parts so you can hear a gap in the recording. So I then improvise and finish it in 4 minutes. 
He has now traveled from Australia to WAB for a field trip. So he was one of the kids with black hair and a fringe cut.
By this time, he still hasn’t done anything with Say It Again so I send him Veni Vidi Vici and say, “it’s OK if you can’t get the drums to me, I’ll just use programmed drums.” Meaning- You’re probably too lazy to get to it. For production, to fill in the gap I produced the whole thing again with programmed drums/guitars and figured out his …3 chord song. Not even a dom7 for the 5th degree? No. It’s a 3 major chord song. The most complex thing it has going for it are the drums which has the 2nd kick syncopated. There’s also 2 layers of bells going on. I also added simple bass and backing vocals. Yes, it makes my hairs stand up. The acoustic section in ‘You Had Me’ also did but the mixers ruined it but that’s mostly on me for choosing those guys again. For this one, the mixer sent me a version which I thought had the drums too loud and the vocals didn’t make my hairs stand up but sounded like perfection. So on the 2nd revision, I asked to have 20% of the reverb/effects removed and it worked. 
The irony is that the environment is the last thing I care about. I care about people first. I’m sort of with George Carlin. My take is that with a perfect environment and assholes running around there’s no point. Also, let’s just say Earth dies. Bigger picture wise, the universe will do just fine. The bigger environment-the universe lives on. Nonetheless, I did put my heart into someone else’s beliefs as you can hear. It has also reignite my interest in writing good lyrics cos’ if he hadn’t written good lines I wouldn’t have emoted.  There are also environmentalists who give a damn about human beings as much as the environment like Spiderman and I can respect that.
