All wrapped in a custom made silkscreen sleeve, also including a textile keychain and stickers. Sonically spanning from ambient to techno, 10 Yahre carries new and exclusive material, all woven around the label’s decade focus on dance floor culture, started 2011 in Cologne, Germany.

As two differing sides to the emotive spectrum, there is plenty here to dive into, and helps to serve us up very nicely indeed to their latest effort, ‘Sunswell’, their first record together in three years. Inkeeping with their most recent efforts, the duo waste no time in bringing forward some truly special vibes, with the title track kicking things off in spectacular fashion. Simmering, engrossing synths start preceedings, before a delightful breakbeat slides into view underneath, with 90s leaning vocal samples fuelling the momentum as we slide onwards and upwards. The additional key work which comes into view around the half way mark ensures that the heart and the soul are both very much fulfilled.

Since 2014, Public Release has been enlisting the raw, trademark groove of Richard Sen on a variety of now- renowned remixes. Label boss Eug has cited him in numerous interviews as being one of his all-time favourite producers, so it was inevitable that a solo EP would eventually materialize. That time has finally come, and in the Spring of 2022, the UK legend drops his solo EP “My Definition of Funk” on Public Release.

These three raw, gritty, hard-hitting, peak-time tracks are quintessential Richard Sen, combining the energy and influences of post-punk, breaks, and house in one sturdy sonic package.

@spacedimensioncontroller: "My idea for Tiraquon Recordings and the Vol.1 compilation was to release non-conceptual dance floor focused music that have a higher energy and BPM than the usual Space Dimension Controller sound that many have come to expect. By drip-feeding the singles, I wanted to build towards a full vinyl compilation at the end with some new tracks as a bonus. We delayed the release as I wanted to make sure the tracks are able to be experienced the way they were supposed to be, in clubs and at festivals."

"The Time Is (Now) was written during an artist studio residency in the north of Montreal. It was Fall 2021, and after a quick moment of hope and few travels during that summer, we were back in the dark with no opening of clubs in sight and still in this heavy pandemic vibe.

This residency was a way for me to take control of what I could still control, productivity and creativity, instead of giving into dark thoughts and inertia. Armed with 2 synths (Prophet 6, Moog Grandmother) and computer, my goal was to write 1 track per day, no judgement. After 2 weeks, I realized I had a good base for my next album (more on that later) but I also had a few tracks that I thought could co-habitate on a dancefloor driven EP.
The title track was a tricky one. I worked on something all day and felt I wasn’t getting any breakthrough. After dinner, I went back to the studio and suddenly, something happened.

The track is based around this heavy disco beat and the 2 bass lines working together. The spoken word refers to this sense of urgency of trying to grab the bull by the horn. There’s a sense of darkness in it, but also hope. Especially at that mid part when the Rhodes come in to tell us everything is going to be alright. I guess this is something I always try to have in my music — A moment of hope/light. When I got back home, I replayed a few things on my instruments at home to make it sound more live and asked Laroye, a french producer living in the UK, to redo the percussion parts. The Dub and Reprise came naturally after that.

L’Horizon was an easier process, and I tried to fight the instinct of changing it too much when I got home to keep the vibe intact. It certainly doesn’t reinvent the wheel but it has a sort of classic charm, remininscent of late 90s Parisian House and also some of the music I made around the early 2000s. Big organ stabs and bass line, It’s full of clichés and I decided to run with it. Paintings closes things off with a more introspective vibe. Based around a chord memory progression from my Prophet, and a trusty conforting Moog square bass line, mixed in with some dreamy gospel like chants and textures. My version of an abstract painting."

After her stunning release on our deeper House focused Karakul label, we are over the moon to welcome back Swiss producer Lea Lisa on our main Phonica imprint.

The ‘Love To The End EP’ takes influence and inspiration from a particular early 90s UK Techno rarity by Mark Goddard titled ‘The End’ (The Truth EP), a beautiful and emotive take on the classic sound of UK Techno that’s been much loved and highly sought after for decades, even being a particular favourite of Aphex Twin. It’s an ode to the original, rather than a remix or cover. The two mixes re-imagine the sound of soulful and deep Techno, combining driving basslines and drum machine grooves with atmospheric and nostalgic synth lines.

On the A-Side’s ‘Manchester Club Mix’, the focus is laser focused on peaktime dancefloors with a slowly building level of euphoria matched with rolling drums until the breakdown chills the mood and the plucky, earth shaking bassline returns before the tension is released and the melodies float effort- lessly around the pounding rhythm.

Over on the B-Side, the ‘Sunset Mix’ jacks up the drums with kicks and claps that shake your spine. The bassline rolls steadily throughout the mix but the melodic lines this time are more restrained, introspective and subtle, echoing and harking to past rave memories with ease...
