A Boorloo born treasure returns to its home shores for the holidays. The undeniably adored Jo has been and still continues to be an integral part of the music community spanning between Perth & Melbourne. Although Jo had already left for Melbourne before I got to meet her, her name was echoed among peers whether it be the alias Toni Yotzi (RIP Tony Yozzi) or Jo. From Day Woo to Deep Doogs Jo’s commitment to bring alternative dance parties to the scene never went unnoticed or unappreciated. No matter how far and wide her talents may take her across this globe, she will always remain a true G.

Jo: "I love when the environment allows for a long game, when music feels like mist, an all encompassing presence but not intrusive. There's no anxiety waiting for the next track to be mixed quickly, with long form music being woven into a new journey. I love subtle intensity, metallic textures with breathing room, sweetness and lots of melancholia. 

I've finally come to place where I 'mostly' feel mixes exist because of a certain time and emotional place. It's not the last exploration, so they don't need to represent all parts of you in your entirety. They're a moment, not your life's work.

Here's this one, not perfect, but from where I was standing everything and everyone was. 

I can't properly describe what a deep joy it was to play for old + new friends. I am profoundly grateful that a year of missing, distance and disconnection allowed me to feel so embraced and cared for throughout the beautiful Boorloo summer. Thank you Monty ❤ thank you friends, thank you family.

We've always got time for DJs whose sound is likened to a delicious food experience. In the case of Rotterdam-based selector Nala Brown, it's the Dutch delicacy known as kapsalon: crisp shawarma and fries, coated in smooth melted cheese and garlic sauce, finished with spicy sambal and crispy, crunchy lettuce.

To be honest, it'﻿s a spot on observation: Nala's high energy DJ sets—which have recently come via Melkweg and Dekmantel's Connect series across from Cinnaman—move effortlessly through sharp rhythms, rumbling bass excursions and thunderous breaks, with a guaranteed sprinkling of spice added to the mix.

Alongside her DJ pursuits, she is one of the minds behind Ampfeminine Collective, who through events, workshops, mixes and, more recently, a radio show on Refuge Worldwide, help to create more opportunities and amplify the voices of women and minorities within the nightlife scene.

True to her kapsalon comparison, she takes us over humpday with a mix full of bouncy electro, hypnotic techno, clattering breakbeats and two particularly spicy edits of Kelis and Ginuwine.

Davin Underwood is one the heads behind hamburg's finest @isleofwax.. he's been busy recently with a heavy stream of super tasteful uploads on his yt channel and as trusted host of uniform variations on @hallo-radio. Honoured to host this mix from one of my favourite selectors at the moment.. dive in and don't look back!

Back with another one - And it's a very special one indeed. This mix comes from someone who has definitely dug deeper than most over the decades. Flawlessly selected, programmed, mixed and presented in the most dubbest of dub wise manners. 

Chris Galloway aka Woodenhorse Provocateur aka the man like Roots Unit has been into this record game for a minute. He's bent our minds with the freshest OG re-edits and productions as one quarter of the Soft Rocks massive, brought us some wonderful modern house, Balearic and downtempo music via his peerless Kinfolk & Vibrations labels and has undoubtedly relieved quite a few of you of some quids in his role as a respected record dealer over the years. 

All of the above activities, as well as a youth spent partying in the midst of the original acid house wave and beyond here in the UK means Chris has a truly open musical mind and some set of ears on him, and through this mix we get to enjoy the fruits of his impeccable taste and collection. 

This one's in a heavy dub mode - if you hadn't guessed already - and by that we mean all shades of dub, from the spatial to the sublime to the unreleased and exotic. It's all here. We've been jamming this one hard here at GGHQ last couple of months - it's nice to finally be able to share it with you all.

BetterDaze, St.Ego - Stranger (Intro Mix) [3rd Avenue]

Goddamn, did it really take me two years until I was satisfied with this track? It seems so. 

Started in April 2023 with a highly-treated, noisy, pumping sample from Toby Schay. Bass from Elka, Melody from the ever amazing S&A Choreographs with Arturias Fragments. The breakdown section came from a failed attempt to extract a melody of the original sample.
