This record is inspired by one of the most representative clubs of the Italian Cosmic movement of the 80s.

Rimini, 1981. Melody Mecca opens its doors and Dj Pery is the first resident, he spontaneously makes the club unique, through his personal choice of music, mostly relying on Afro and World sounds, rather than the disco-funk groove, filling Italian dancefloors in the early 80s.

Dj Meo, author of the outstanding Fine Corsa reissued in 2018, joins the booth in 1983 and the two create a magic flow, that resonates with the Cosmic scene. On the floor peace reigns and there is no need for security.

Aficionados coming from every part of Italy are like pilgrims gathering to the long stairway and yellow roof tarps of “La Mecca”.

The venue is huge, every night the musical path provides an educating experience bringing down the boundaries of mixing, dancers go crazy for mixtapes, hundreds are recorded after the parties and played on car systems, to the extent that who’s bounced is having a party in the parking of the club.

Stump Valley roots lie in the collection of records inherited from Dj Peppe, who inspired our Magica Movida. This is the second chapter of our tribute to that era, even if it won't be possible to recreate the same atmosphere of those magical nights today, till we will have stories like to one of Meo, the legacy of Melodj Mecca will still alive.

Manchester native @lozgoddard has been crafting high-quality releases since 2015, garnering early support from the likes of Mr. Scruff, Mike Huckaby, Move D, and Session Victim. The ever-eclectic producer has since partnered up with esteemed labels such as Seb Wildblood’s Church imprint and deep-house institution - Quintessentially, Loz has since reinvented his sound with an experimental edge and a penchant for live instrumentation. It’s Goddard’s ability to explore a wide range of genres and tempos whilst maintaining an authentically personal sound that is particularly special. Whether it’s the slow ambient motions inspired by the likes of Boards of Canada or the rattling breakbeat workouts imbued with the spirit of the nineties the U.K underground, this northern powerhouse delivers a deeply immersive sound design to be utilized in the club and for home listening. His latest work has been manifested in the form of the ‘Balloon Tree Road’, an LP set for release on @oathy - purveyors of visionary electronic decadence, heavily conceptual and forward-facing in their creative output.

Stepping up for his fourth release on Heist, sample wizard Nebraska comes in with some lovely chops and a giant curveball of an A-side that has summer anthem written all over it. Dive into this massive four track EP by the London native who just keeps on bringing the goods!

The ‘Chant des Oiseaux EP’ is built around a collaboration between Nebraska and BeBelle. Anyone who’s picked up Nebraska’s 2021 release on his Friends & Relations label, will have already had a glimpse of what happens when these two get in the studio. They have a mutual love for French vocals; everything BeBelle says, whispers and chants just sounds syrupy sweet. This might be most evident on the title track where modulated Rhodes, the distant chirping and fluttering of birds, and a minimal beat form the foundation for BeBelle’s mesmerizing vocal. The dreamy and contemplative vibe makes you long for those endless days of summer.

The Detroit inspired ‘Skelp Tune’ will take you back to the ground and straight into the club. Nebraska actually sent in a ‘note to self’  saying “you’re not Moodymann” along with the first demo of this to the label. But he doesn’t have to be, as this track has all the clever sampling and disco energy of a classic Nebraska tune, nicely tucked into one hell of a groove!  The flip starts with ‘Cop Show’, a no-frills disco house cut with life affirming strings, guitar licks, and a bottom end to freak out your neighbour’s neighbours. The EP closer is another collaboration with BeBelle on ‘Henri Rousseau’,  built on a groove that gallops along, with strings, outer-worldly vocals, and howling soundscapes that turn it into a covert disco burner on the more experimental side of house.

On the ‘Chant des Oiseaux EP’, Nebraska effortlessly shows off his impressive sampling skills, electronic fiddling, and powerful drum programming, reminding us that he’s not lost an inch of talent over the years, continually managing to surprise us with his music!  Knowing him this is simply because he’s exploring new ways to keep on surprising himself…

Dj octopus: marco zanin aka dj octopus first made his appearance on the scene in 2013 with loads of releases on influential labels such as Hot haus and chiwax. Jay green: luca averna is an italian dj and producer based in ibiza, sound of brenta affiliate and prolific dance-oriented tune maker.

Take two italian underground legends, put them in a house in ibiza, patiently wait for 13 years, as you’d do with some good wine. Straight out of 2009, a mojito-tasting release just in time for sunny dancefloors. Groovy percussions blending with smooth synths and hard hitting drum machines, bringing a balearic but inner-looking mood.
