If you could somehow mix the raw energy of Hendrix riffs, the funky groove of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and a deep-rooted fear of emotional intimacy, you’d get The Sunmills. Hailing from Highland, Utah, this alternative rock trio is on a mission to restore the spirit of '90s alt-rock, even if it means accidentally exposing their own personal issues one sarcastic banger at a time. The band’s sound is raw, loud, and refreshingly honest in its imperfections. They’re the kind of band that wears their emotional baggage like a badge of honor, and their music reflects that beautifully messy approach to life.

Their debut album, “The Art of Burning Bridges” (out May 9, 2025), is a chaotic love letter to failed relationships, ghosted girlfriends, and the kind of self-sabotage that somehow still looks cool when you’re on stage. Laced with catchy hooks, it’s a wild ride through emotional messiness, drenched in sarcasm, with just enough honesty to make you wonder, “Wait… are they okay?” The Sunmills aren’t here for a tidy narrative. Instead, they’re creating anthems for anyone who’s ever experienced the highs and lows of love, but has a hard time admitting they’re the reason it all fell apart.
