Oh man... I already knew I was going to love this track at this point.  Seriously... what a great combination of instruments for the melody.  Bass is clean and big, and the drum beat is very clean and bright.

The different acoustic sounds to the equalization and hallway effects added to the instruments really gives it that quality and authentic sound 

well, def more funk than trip hop. Or even jazz. That piano is insane and absolutely artistic. All solos are. Well, its jazz alright.

Cosmogony

Kristof Du Mon from Berchem near Antwerp (Belgium) is the man behind "The Mixing Chef". His passion is to cook Ambient and harmonic Downtempo music, flavoured by ingredients of all Downtempo and Chillout genres.

He experienced his love for music in earlier years through learning to play guitar by himself, but when he discovered how to produce chilled electronic music by using a computer, the idea for the project "The Mixing Chef" was born. He self describes his style as meditative trip, a smooth blend of many electronic chilled downtempo genres.

Mostly influences like Trip-hop, Chillstep and Ambient seasoned with love for Lounge define his music. His inspiration are artists like Massive Attack and CD-series like Cafe del Mar and Supperclub

If you See one of my tracks on a compilation album, please do not buy it. Some of my tracks have been circulating on compilation albums without my permission, and are often free downloads here on soundcloud!
