An Irish language rap group has improbably enough become the focus of global media attention and political debate. Why? For describing Israel's actions in Gaza as a genocide and accusing the United States of complicity before an approving crowd at the music festival Coachella. In this episode, Naomi and Tim explain the origins of Kneecap in the movement for Irish language rights, the controversies about the band as its fame grew to ever greater heights, and why it now appears to be becoming a test case for the freedom of cultural figures to speak out about Palestine.

‘Viva Palestina’ is a house track with a strong message of support for the Palestinian people in their fight against oppression and their struggle for liberation.

The Dance For Peace remixes are produced by some of the DJs who support and have performed at Dance For Peace events in Brighton.

Pete Bones supplies an awesome organic house remix. Chema G’s remix is a groovy tech, deep house mix. Pook and Phil Able & Ali Wilson turn in top class melodic house and techno mixes. Black Octopus weigh in with a dark and cinematic electronica mix. And Nick Hook adds a new Liberation Dub mix.

All label and artist royalties from this release will go to Medical Aid For Palestinians.

The release coincides with the next Dance For Peace event on Saturday 12th of July at Brighton Electric Studios in Brighton.
The awesome line-up for this event features some on Brighton’s finest DJs including: Steve Mac, Scott Diaz, Evil Tom, Nick Hook, POok, Eugene Glasgow, Chema G, Bruno Numero Uno, Charlene From Neighbours, Joey Hertz, NJ Strange, Adam Pique and Lui Florez.
All the DJs are playing for free and all the proceeds will go to Medical Aid For Palestinians.

Music is my therapy! All styles of house and ambient electronic music. On occasion, I also blend music with politics.

RELOCATION EP (March-April 2025) now complete - 20 tracks, lots of uplifting floor-fillers, deeper electronica, plus some vocal numbers, including a couple of protest tunes.

After producing very little for 20 years, up until last summer, Im really enjoying creating new tunes, so I'm already starting on the next album. I should have some more brand new material to add very soon. Stay tuned & thanks for listening! Damien.
