The first time you go into the main menu from the title screen, you're met with something extremely similar to Deltarune's character/vessel creator. Once the outcome of this becomes more relevant, I'll talk about this in more detail.

The song itself builds up as you progress through the character creator. The mysterious voice asks you about its name, about the kind of hairstyle, body and legs you'd like to give it.

Many years ago, there was an inventor. A man of science, magic and ingenuity. This man was Dr. Gaster. He fell tragically after an incident involving one of his most recent creations.

Some say he still roams the Underground. Some say he seeks a way to return to his former glory. Some say he seeks a way to resurrect himself.

But I shouldn't spread rumors like this. 
It's rude to speak of somebody who is listening.

After Kris' encounter with the mysterious man in the shadows, a door opens up ahead letting out a decent amount of light. A new figure walks through this door and spots Kris. This is Asgore!

Asgore moved to a new home many years ago after unfortunate incidents rendered him emotionally unfit to reign as king of the Underground. Ever since moving, he's built a new, down-to-earth (or down-in-earth, even) life, coexisting among other monsters as equals, as a member of their community, trying to help make their living environment more pleasant and inhabitable.

Some of the monsters still treat him with a walking-on-eggshells amount of respect, something he wishes he could leave behind in favor of living a more comfortable life removed from all the politics.

Asgore's new home is the very aptly named New Home! It's home to a variety of monsters, too, such as Moldsmal, Froggits and Migosps. Asgore has been sprucing up the place ever since he moved there, putting his gardening skills to good use after cultivating the garden in the throne room for as long as he has.

The Old Switcheroo is my very own take on Underswap! The majority of the swaps are what you'd expect, but there are a small handful that stray from the expectations of your average Underswap take.

As Mettaton makes his appearance on stage, he's utterly baffled, even appalled, that nobody showed up to his performance. Believing Kris to be responsible for his lack of an audience, he initiates a FIGHT with them.

* It's far beyond tired of these shenanigans.
* Despite their stern looks, though...
* It's hard to take them seriously.

===== NOTES =====
The Ruined Dummy strikes back against the paintball menaces. Unfortunately for Kris and Suzy, this includes them, too. Despite their efforts to clear their name, the Ruined Dummy simply isn't having it.

The Ruined Dummy has been a victim of the paintball war, and, despite being an innocent bystander unrelated to the game, has been covered with paint from head to base. 
It's no wonder they seem so intensely apprehensive when face to face with a monster and her human companion dressed in the same kind of gear that their assailants wore.

Grillby runs a cozy little tavern up in Coldfront. He manages the bar and cash register while his employees, walking little embers, act as the servers.

Grillby wouldn't seem to be the type of person to have a reason to fight you. But when you (or your partner-in-crime) accidentally steps on and snuffs out one of his employees...

(Don't worry. The ember is fine. Grillby just got a little freaked out because there's been accidents before.)

After the College Fund Conspiracy came to an end, Sergeant Bow-Wow (the Colonel Sanders dog statue) had mysteriously appeared in the space behind Sans and Papyrus' fridge. How it got there? The Ruined Dummy had at one point found this new, pristine body elsewhere in the Underground and decided they needed a safe place to keep their newfound body as pristine as (super)naturally possible.

Papyrus had already attempted to enter the space, but was subsequently threatened with the destruction of his unborn children, so he instead decides to put Kris in charge of handling this new situation.

THE OLD SWITCHEROO is a take on Underswap made by Toadie (@dashingtoadie-the-sequel). It's a project that's been in the works for quite a while, striving to eventually have a sprite comic made for it.
