'Modern Regulations' is a wavy piece of hyperdynamic techno, channeling metallic synths and a whirlwinding synth lead into a hypnotic excursion. 'Echo In The Eternity' is equally attention-grabbing, with its heavy-hitting bassline and undulating synths, showcasing BLANKA’s ability to create mesmerising soundscapes. 'Strategy' balances off the high octane energy of the first two tracks with its more grave atmosphere but correspondingly fast-paced intensity. Rhythm Assembler takes on the title track, giving it a new twist, both figuratively and literally, adding raucous pads that enhance its industrial appeal.

This is my recording from Friday night Room 2, 12:30-2am, my first time being at the mythical Free Rotation. Playing one of the first sets & seeing the room, decor and the big bad subs of Room 2, years of fantastical lore and reality melded, I wanted to keep it sexy, wonky, trippy— imagining a psychic electric swamp and how one would levitate thru it... to the sky. Pete says “Back in 2021 I was asked to remix a track for Rheinzand (Strange World). I couldn't imagine that we would have had a whole remix album that would eventually be released on vinyl. This journey was a new, overwhelming, frightening but beautiful experience for me. I had never done something like this. I didn't have the experience and knowledge at that time. I only had one night a week of studio time and 10 months of time. And here we are, I can certainly say – anything is possible".

In-demand DJ/producer Yanamaste is a resident at Georgia’s renowned Khidi Club and a key part of Amsterdam’s Vault Sessions crew. His unique sound and fresh creative approach result in raw and visceral techno, reflecting his passion for pushing boundaries and showcased perfectly via his ‘Dance’ EP on Vault last year. Now, he returns with an EP born out of the creative process behind his live set with a debut appearance on SHDW’s Mutual Rytm, ‘Evil’ - a collection of heavily-requested tracks that have already made an impact after featuring in his Boiler Room and Stone Techno Festival livestream.

‘Evil’ kicks things off with perfectly rubbery, funky drum patterns and an urgent sense of movement that sweeps you off your feet. ‘Lahante’ is more percussive, with busy snares riding the rolling, forceful drums and stark synths arresting your attention. ‘Dragonfly’ is perfectly reduced via minimal drums intertwined with thunderous effects and ghoulish energy, while ‘Modulation Detected’ has a more cosmic feel as it journeys into the future with whispered spoken words and synths searching across the face of the groove. Last but not least is the irresistible broken beat goodness of ‘Walking On Mars’, with its swinging kicks and vast bassline spraying about the mix beneath hypnotic melodic patterns.

Two superb bonus cuts, ‘Ohohoi’ and ‘Pwiu’, are also provided for digital buyers, bringing further gems loaded with moody depths and compelling rhythms.

It’s been seven years since the Grammy Award-winning British folk-rock band released their fourth studio album, 2018’s ‘Delta.’ They recorded ‘Rushmere’ with producer Dave Cobb in RCA’s historic Studio A in Nashville. The track “Truth” grew out of a guitar riff that materialized between takes, says Ben Lovett: “The song kind of fell out of the sky.” For bassist Ted Dwane, “Caroline” is “probably the highlight” of the new album. Barcelona-based artist Tunik, is a true master of synth-based music. So much so that the Argentinian is often one of the first artists that springs to mind when in need of a large dose of darkness. His productions and DJ sets speak to a higher power that sees his performances at the likes of Les Enfants Brillants, OUTPUT, and Razzmattaz in his adopted Barcelona, as well as a regular slew of the finest parties around the world. 

Being an in-demand artist doesn't stop Tunik from pursuing his own vision of electronic music. This was born in the shape of the Synth City project, and what followed was an evocative series of events at LEB. We are yet to even mention Tunik’s productions that only appear on labels that are at the vanguard of the underground. His longstanding connection to Dekmantel speaks volumes of the progression of his sound, as does his EP’s for Nicolas Lutz’ My Own Jupiter imprint and Further Electronix.

Tunik is without doubt a true force to be reckoned and we are thrilled to welcome him to our InSession podcast series. A self-confessed genre hopper, we are guided through a cosmic selection that all share an unspoken connection through the ethereal. They raise funds for local grassroots charities supporting women and gender expansive people while creating events for all genders that are full of positivity, solidarity and mischief.
