For our next trip Down The Stairs, we head down south to Birmingham and are supremely delighted to welcome Jayson Wynters (@jwynters) into the DTS fold.

Kicking off his musical endeavours as a garage MC around Birmingham in the late 90's, Jayson's tastes evolved over the years and he found support in the form of the legendary Mr G, who took on Jayson as part of the Phoenix G family with his 2016 EP, 'Unfamiliar Territories.' It was this, and 2 further releases on Don't Be Afraid (@dontbeafraid), that brought Jay to our attention here at 2Sox HQ. From then on, we have thoroughly enjoyed all his output; from other tracks to a plethora of flawless mixes.

We were chuffed when Jayson accepted the offer of heading DTS and even more chuffed when he delivered this quite perfect hour of deepness.

Machining Dreams w. Hakim Murphy invites G Marcell on the latest episode of machining dreams!! Since Hakim's youth, he believes that music has touched him in a way that made him fall in love with its rhythms, harmonies, and melodies. So in the natural progression dancing took over his body, but yet his soul craved for more and that is when playing records surfaced. Ah, then the fascination with the fast dance tracks turned into deep House production through friends and experiences, which then blossomed into a Bachelor’s degree in music composition. Liberal arts training allowed him to take classes and learn about human intellect, nature, and essentially develop his personal definition of art. Synapsis Records and Machining Dreams record labels are born and are currently releasing music by, for, and from the underground. Then after learning the craft, collaborations were born as he is part of In Pegasus Heat, Resonating, Hardware Hustlerz, Slowmotion and Dream Scoring. G. Marcell: Words of inspiration to get the world moving 360 positive. If no one today have told you that you are loved let me be the first, you are loved. G.Marcell started spinning at 89.3 WKKC on Sound Waves in Chicago on Saturday back in 1991 (as Suga Bear). In between now and then G. Marcell have beat up clubs and parties from Chicago to Indiana on up to Michigan. As far as releases go, in 2002 dropping his first E.P. w/ Bumpincity entitled “The Definition Of G. Marcell” was the start of his journey as a producer. Since then, G. Marcell have worked and produced remixes for different underground labels such as, Underground Uncensored, Noble Square Recordings (NSR), Synapsis, Minimalizm and also have started his own label. And for artist that he have worked with…….. Well………… Ricardo Miranda, Amir Alexander, Hakim Murphy and more. As of now he continues to produce and remix music and stay on a spiritual plane in the process.

Machining Dreams w. Hakim Murphy [16.09.2021]

The man behind our latest Ransom Note Records release, over the last few years Belfast-born producer LOR AKA Lunar Orbit Rendezvous has shown he's equally comfortable dreaming up lush, vintage electro as he is soothing ambient soundscapes. 

His 'Faith/Reason' LP, which came out in June of this year, is an ambient tapestry that traverses the boundaries of space that we find during the twilight hours — "when the world stands still for a second and we're reminded of the fragility of the lives we inhabit."

The long player followed a string of previous releases on the likes of Cin Cin, Exit Strategy and Get Physical, as well as his acclaimed eponymous debut album: the inaugural release on his own LOREC label.

For today's Monday Is OK mix, he welcomes us into a fresh week with a collection of ambient influences and discoveries, harmonically mixed for optimum bliss.

Corell is a moniker of Roman Kutnov – producer, composer and sound artist from Moscow, Russia. During the last decade he worked as a solo artist as well as being involved in collaborative projects ranging from indie-rock bands to improv and contemporary academic music collectives. Having an art background Roman works with artists, performers and choreographers providing music for multimedia installations, dance and theatrical performances.
In 2017 he started Corell - a cross-genre project with the focus on ambient and experimental electronic/techno music. In his works he attempts to find a distinctive sound through combining polymetric beats, atmospheres, textures, mutating and morphing loops and rhizomatic composition structures.

The Birth of Infinity

Back in early 2019, I released a single called Distant Visions. After hearing it, a fan commented:
“Almost sounds like something from a second interstellar suite.”

They were referring to my 2006 album The Maestoso Interstellar Suite—a project I re-released with extended material in 2016 for its 10-year anniversary. That comment stuck with me. Did it feel like a sequel? Could it be?

I toyed with the idea. But having just expanded the suite into a double-disc format in 2016, I wasn’t sure a sequel was the right move—especially given how the original was structured as a continuous, uninterrupted journey. I had also briefly considered a vinyl edition, but the flow of the piece and the 22-minute-per-side vinyl limit made it a poor fit for that format. The experience would have been compromised.

Around that time, I released a “radio edit” version of the suite called Singularities to provide an accessible entry point. But if I returned to the suite with new material, I feared I’d be stuck doing the same thing again: a full continuous version and a separate edited version. Frankly, I didn’t want to go through that process again—and since then, I’ve moved away from long single-track formats entirely.

Even then, I was already thinking about vinyl-friendly runtimes, aiming to keep my future projects under 44 minutes so they could fit comfortably on a single LP. I’ve also significantly upgraded my gear and virtual instrument libraries since that time, giving me access to orchestral and hybrid textures I could only dream of back then. Now I have the tools—but what should I do with them?

I thought: Maybe I don’t need a sequel at all. Maybe it’s not about making The Maestoso Interstellar Suite Part II, or Return to Maestoso, or anything like that. Maybe I just need to reimagine the entire idea as something ongoing—something open.

Looking back, I always felt I had to make compromises when producing the 10-year edition. Some sounds weren’t what I was hearing in my head. Hardware limitations forced me to bounce tracks just to finish mixing. I wanted that big, lush, hybrid orchestral sound—and I couldn’t quite get there.

Now I can.

And I’ve got older projects—like La Famille Du Solénoïde (The Family of Sol)—waiting for a modern update. Thematically, they fit perfectly.

So I’ve made a decision:
I’m not making a sequel to The Maestoso Interstellar Suite.

Instead, I’m creating something bigger.

Introducing Infinity

Infinity is an evolving series. A collection of volumes. A universe of sound that has no end—only pauses between stars. It’s not a sequel. It’s not a remix. It’s a living archive of exploration—part ambient, part orchestral, part space music, and completely me.

And to start, I’ll revisit the music that inspired it all.

I’ll go back and refine The Maestoso Interstellar Suite one final time—polish the edges, rework the structure to be vinyl-compatible, and finally bring it closer to what I always heard in my head.

But I won’t just re-release it.

I’ll rebrand it.

The Journey Begins

The Infinity series begins with:

Infinity Volume I – The Maestoso Interstellar Suite

Infinity Volume II – Singularities

Each will stand on its own—but together, they form the beginning of something open-ended. Something I can return to any time inspiration calls.

Infinity has no final tracklist. No end. Only volumes.

And when I’m ready, I’ll add another.

Maybe it’s a crazy idea. But that’s okay—I’m doing this for me.
And I hope you’ll enjoy the journey too.
