The owner and head of one of the most resilient underground dance labels around @getme, Alex Hislop better known as LIXO has been a consistent presence in the ever-changing UK music scene.

A follow-up to his ‘Circada’ E.P ‘Reuptake’, is a four-track EP he made over the lockdown period. "I wanted to focus on what felt euphoric and positive, the only helpful response to the current climate and a good juxtaposition to previous, perhaps darker work. I think the tone is a lot more bright, I lent heavily on melody and arpeggio structures whilst trying to be a bit more free with my approach."

Dublin underground practitioner Soul Campbell brings a wealth of emotion to a fantastic new single on Ten One Records backed with remixes from label bosses ACI TONA and Air Jackson.

Campbell, who also goes by the name Drew, has been a key player on his local Dublin scene for the last decade. Besides regular sets at clubs like Opium and Hangar, he also makes frequent festival appearances showing off his deep appreciation for everything from 80s pop to techno, disco to electro. This new tune was written during a harsh Irish lockdown and references contemporary artists like Palms Trax and The Blessed Madonna while throwing back to a time when Giorgio Moroder and Nile Rodgers were lighting up the charts. The single also marks ten years of Campbell's immersion in the dance world.

The superb 'Universum' is designed for dance, disco, and pop lovers and will bring good times to any set. It has big, skyward arps that bring light and cosmic dazzle. There are airy vocals and a chugging groove with plenty of nostalgic cowbells and imaginative studio effects that make it shine.

ACI TONA and Air Jackson are Irish DJs, producers, and label owners who have helped shape their local scene over the last decade-plus. They use this label to platform vital talents and showcase their studio skills, which they do here and then some. ACI TONA's remix is a tense seven-minute trip that flips the original into a more tech-edged groove. The synths grind, the keys still sparkle, and the drums bang that bit harder for main room thrills. Air Jackson's well-crafted version is somewhere between expansive and cosmic but with steely drums that power forwards over a broad, moody bassline before vast breakbeats erupt and take you to the next level.

This ‘Universum’ release is a powerful package of floor-facing disco that will win plenty of new fans.

There were all sorts of shimmering shapes and colours floating atop the water as he watched perched upon a boat heading down stream. They moved softly on the rolling waves as they travelled through the old town - onlookers gazed out upon the spectacle, they say nestled amidst the reeds on the shore. For some of them it would be the first time that they had ever seen a parade or procession as grand and fantastic as this - the wild colours were electric and ethereal aboard the floating ships. It were as if they'd touched down from outer space. 

Because of Art is a producer who is receiving wide acclaim and support from some of the biggest and best dj's out there. With releases on the likes of Skream and Sasha's labels thus far, now he sets up shop on Anja Schneider's Sous Music with a track called 'Ethereal'.

London producer Third Son is not one for half measures, throwing all of his passion and skill into his music from day one. Since EPs on Accidental and 17 Steps, Third Son has released his debut and follow-up albums throughout successive coronavirus lockdowns and now joins Shall Not Fade for a six-tracker that pulls no punches.

Your Face As Art is British techno at the top of its game, right from the title track’s understated build up into a big-room climax. ‘Descartes Before The Horse’ keeps the momentum, a driving peaktime minimal workout with a spongiform bassline, carrying us through into the glistening soulfulness and ear-tickling sound design of ‘Don’t Be Self Conscious’. Cocteau Twins style dreamy vocals meet the dancefloor in ‘Don’t Go Quietly’, while ‘Lesson in Stoicism’ is a syncopated percussive beat down. ‘Pygmalion Effect’ closes out the EP, a piece of ritualistic body music awash with glassy synth stabs.
