The room was full, swat dripped from the ceiling and the fans were on full power spinning and whirring doing everything in their power to lift the warmth, even just for a moment.

Outside the sun beat down heavy on the streets – there were few wanderers out and about. Instead they’d taken refuge in the bars and clubs nearby, looking to seek refuge from the baking sun. That didn’t mean that there was no fun to be had…

No, quite the opposite.

The music blasted loudly from the hand crafted old speakers, it banged and boomed as whoops and delirious cheers echoed from room to room. It were as if the sun was some kind of witchcraft…

Maxwell Simmons is set to release a new EP on Beat Machine Records – a raucous affair set to bang in small rooms and test soundsystems. This one is for the energy crew.

Birmingham-based artist Emily Jones, also known as Echo Juliet, releases her debut mini-album “Abandon Reality” on October 27th through her label, Invisible IDs.

Raised in Essex, Jones she transitioned from her classical training into the world of the electronic.  A journey, marked by self-doubt, led her to DJing and music production. “Abandon Reality” reflects her escape from societal issues, with tracks like “Red Sun” inspired by her childhood and concerns about climate change.

Drip by drip, drop by drop - the cup began to bubble like some sort of wild cauldron. It was all illuminated by the hazy murky glow of the streetlights which were all seeing and all knowing as they looked down upon the corner with a wicked orange fog.

One sip and it were as if time was moving ever so slowly - the noises which echoed all around were no longer there and the city was silent and asleep for a moment.

Wandering step by step, through the sprawling mirage of streets, boarded up shutters and empty buildings were all that was left to guide him from place to place. Sometimes it was better to be lost than found, besides whenever he needed to find solace in something, there was a purple whirlpool nearby for that.
