FOGO is the union of two hot projects in a compilation with several Latin artists (from Brazil to Uruguay, passing through Argentina) — this nice mix of different cultures and identities are combined in a unique flow. In addition, we will focus on curating sounds and rhythms that range from the celebrated and unanimous percussion in a powerful version to house, disco, dance music, and Brazilian beats.

Since 2014, Public Release has been enlisting the raw, trademark groove of Richard Sen on a variety of now- renowned remixes. Label boss Eug has cited him in numerous interviews as being one of his all-time favourite producers, so it was inevitable that a solo EP would eventually materialize. That time has finally come, and in the Spring of 2022, the UK legend drops his solo EP “My Definition of Funk” on Public Release.

These three raw, gritty, hard-hitting, peak-time tracks are quintessential Richard Sen, combining the energy and influences of post-punk, breaks, and house in one sturdy sonic package.

The ocean was quiet, there was little which disturbed the surface of the vast expanse of water but for the occasional raindrop which fell from the grey, overcast sky up above.

The mid afternoon sun had long since vanished, hidden behind a cloak of clouds as the last stragglers left the beach for the day to return to the haven of their apartments before the storm rolled in.

Soon there would be waves, grand ones and wild ones at that. They would batter the shore and the town would soon be awash with sand and grit, the only reminder that the beach had ever even been there at all.

That was life in paradise...

Forgotten Frequencies are remixed by infamous Glasgow party starters We Should Hang out More on the newly launched label In The Event of Capture.

Their remix is perhaps more understated and sombre than we might stereotypically expect but that is what makes it all the more special. This one is a treat...

For our ninth offering we are delighted to welcome Lisbon based artist Larry Quest to the label. Larry is an astute producer adaptable to varying styles, strong in musicality and a particular flair for soulful, jazzy touches and classy deep house music. For the ‘Mystery Herd’ release we are treated to an EP richly inspired by the natural world and the colors within. Venus Girdle enjoys ethereal pads, a strong but distant kick and swelling percussion. Asian butterfly Alpine Black Swallowtail informs the next track, with its mountainous field-recording, gentle arpeggios and harmony of pads. Haliotis reverb swelling pads represent the waves, the synths and percussion, the spume and the bass groove embodying the sea. Nicobarica is a cool organic track with beautifully played keys, live guitar licks and a breezy rhythm section complete with rolling percussion all combining making for an infectious groove. Completing the EP is a spaced out, ambient take of Venus Girdle by Joe Morris!

Manchmal ist es eine Frage der Perspektive. Es ist diese alte Geschichte: Wenn du vom Elefanten nur ein Bein wahrnimmst, hältst du es vielleicht für einen Baum. Erst verschiedene Blickwinkel vermitteln einen vollständigen Eindruck.

So ist es auch beim Rahmen. Für die einen bedeutet er Orientierung, Fokus, Sicherheit oder das Regelwerk für ein gutes Spiel. Für die anderen bedeutet ein Rahmen Begrenzung, Einengung, Vorschrift oder ein unangemessenes Narrativ. Beide Perspektiven haben ihre Berechtigung abhängig von Raum, Zeit und beteiligten Personen.

Natürlich sind unterschiedliche Blickwinkel keine alternativen Fakten. Ein Feuer in der Carakum-Wüste ist kein Dattelhain. Jedoch hängt die Bedeutung einer Tatsache von unserer Perspektive ab. Hinter manchen Perspektiven stecken Bedürfnisse. Das ist menschlich. Ich will tanzen, du willst tanzen. Probieren wir es miteinander? Nicht jeder Tritt auf den Fuß ist böse Absicht. Manchmal ist es Ungeschicklichkeit, manchmal sogar lustig und manchmal hast du einfach selbst einen echt wilden Move gemacht. Manchmal ist es ein Weckruf… Wenn wir verlernen, verschiedene Perspektiven zu teilen, sehen wir Bäume, wo Elefanten sind, sehen wir Trennendes, wo Gemeinsamkeiten sind, erfüllen sich Ängste statt unserer Bedürfnisse. Und am Ende sehen wir vielleicht nur Buchstaben, wo eigentlich Meeronauten Musik zu hören ist!

Die neue EP "Frame" von Decalculator ist die Einladung zu einem multiperspektivischen Spiel, bereichert durch die Sichtweisen von Lisbird, Nairam und Manucho. Wie ist deine Perspektive? Einen Rahmen schaffen oder aus der Reihe tanzen? Hör rein und such dir was aus!

On side A, we can hear the main track, “Sakura”, a very elegant minimal with a bassline full of energy and movement accompanied by a full-bodied kick, stabs full of dynamite and some pads that take you straight to the sky.

As side B, “Meet Of Fate”, with a deeper bassline, this time accompanied by a very crunchy groove, beautiful melodies and amazing automations that make you feel like you are continually going up and down under the general vibe of the track.

Ultimately, there couldn't be a better presentation for the label than this great launch from these two great London-based producers.
