Inga Sama is a dreamer behind the decks, crafting immersive sets filled with spacy melodies, groovy rhythms, and textured basslines. Drawing from dub, acid, trance, and prog, her selections float between pulse and play, always aiming to move both body and mind. A dedicated digger with a perfectionist streak, she brings precision and intention to every mix, always delivering sets that are clean, fluid and consistent.

"The mix starts off with deep, rolling cuts and vibrant textures that draw you in from the very first moments. The first half is uplifting and full of motion: trancy, colourful, and groovy. Then the energy gradually shifts into darker territory, ending in a tribal, hypnotic space. I put this mix together with the idea of creating a sound journey that feels both energising and immersive, whether you're at home, on the dancefloor, or just drifting somewhere in between."

Finn Johannsen is a Berlin-based DJ, writer, and impresario at Berlin club Paloma, renowned for his encyclopedic knowledge of music and deep, eclectic selections that span disco, house, techno, reggae, and beyond. Active since the late 1980s, Johannsen has built a reputation for narrative-driven DJ sets that seamlessly connect musical histories, often highlighting overlooked gems and rare cuts. Beyond the decks, he is a respected music journalist and interviewer, contributing insightful commentary on dance music culture and its social contexts. His work, both as a selector and a writer, reflects a lifelong commitment to preserving and expanding the dialogue around underground music.

“My main job at Hard Wax is selecting and buying in records,” reveals @arthurrieger (Arthur). For regulars at the Berlin-based record store institution, the DJ and curator, with a deeply rooted passion for Dub, sound system culture, and genre-defying electronic music, is a familiar face.

For more than a decade, he is a key figure at the shop, filtering quality vinyl for a store that shapes the Techno and House scene. Currently, he is on a small leave, gathering creativity for his other multiple ventures. As a DJ, he tours the world alongside friends like Mark Ernestus or PLO Man, creating unique atmospheres with his special sensitivity for timing, bass, and energy that consistently propels the dancefloor forward.

The phrase 'one-of-a-kind' perhaps gets thrown around too much these days, but those that already know Auntie Flo (née Brian D'Souza) will join me in saying this is no overstatement. Building a reputation for having one of the most sonically eclectic and captivating live shows, and the revered ability to combine acoustic and electronic elements like no other, Auntie Flo has been excelling at his own game for a minute now.

And now, Auntie Flo is back with a new EP to feed our hungry souls with his beats inspired the sounds of the universe. This project, already with Four Tet's backing, is the product of D'Souza's yearning to share his love of traditional African rhythms, and a wish to bring them to the world's stage. Here, he employs an impressive array of session musicians and a Ugandan ten-string harp, recording it all at the Santuri Studios as part of the Ugandan Bayimba arts festival in Kamapala last year.

"Rainfall on Red Earth" is available in its full 16-minute beauty as part of The Soniferous Garden EP, which will be released in full exclusively on vinyl by Sofrito early next year.

Waterford electronic music institution RePublik Music Recordings, the budding label of the noted party throwers, shines the spotlight on a local Irish talent with its latest release, welcoming Between Ourselves to the family. They follow in the footsteps of artists like Patlac, Matthias Meyer, Mathias Schober and Wayne Duggan. It’s only three releases in for the young imprint and the quality has yet to falter. Between Ourselves have rendered two splendid original cuts for the occasion, they come in the form of ‘Content Aware Scale’ and ‘Nostalgia’. To boot, RePublik lay the icing on the cake with a supreme rework from a man who needs little introduction; Maeve and Innervisions producer Aera.

Premiere: Between Ourselves - Content Aware Scale (Aera Remix)[RePublik Music Recordings]

Thomas Gandey hits Noir Music later this week (Friday 23rd December) with his rework of ‘Lovemachine’, 1978 future disco band, Supermax’s track of the same name. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of it above.

Gandey first rose to prominence in the mid noughties as Cagedbaby, and has since gone on under his own name to see release through Carl Craig’s Planet E Communications, Get Physical, Crosstown Rebels, Suara, OFF, Desolat and Monkeytown.

On his rework of ‘Lovemachine’, Gandey turns in an arresting cut tailored for late night dancefloors, complete with his trademark haunting vocals. It comes as part of a two-tracker that features Re.you and Pleasurekraft’s remix on the flip.

The sun soared high in the galaxy up above planet earth. The life amidst the universe was vast and illuminated like a fluorescent bulb. All that glows burns brightly in the depths of space. Clouds moved across the sky as he lay in the long grass looking upwards. He rolled over, grounded his perceptions and brought himself back down to earth. He could remember very little of what he had just seen but he knew that it had been beautiful. At least in the moment it had seemed real. That was all that mattered. 

KDMS are an exciting new prospect amidst London's burgeoning pop club crossover scene. Their new album sees them dabble in the experimental side of modern day dance music and could certainly be said to have an orientation towards the charts. Peter Herbert steps up to remix.
