Alexander Church continues his mission to the outer edges of electronica with another superb EP on his own Life Scripts label. Both this artist and his label had a standout year in 2021. Church also runs Configurations of Self and produces with James Welsh as Common Factors, so is well respected for his work in the underground. It takes in everything from IDM to breakbeat, techno to ambient and always with a signature sense of adventure and classy sound design. His first outing of 2022 is another accomplished one. Masterfully melodic opener 'Intuniv' pairs curious synth sounds with crunchy percussion and bulky broken beats. It's music to take you into another dimension.

Temptation came in many shapes and forms, it was how you dealt with those occurrences that showed your character and  integrity. Whether it was a glutinous dinner, an indulgent purchase or a wandering eye, these were things that could strike at any moment. Some temptations could be flirted with, others could be entertained in moderation but on some occasions you'd be dancing with the devil; dancing in the garden of lust.

In 2016 Dalmata Daniel came into the world with the helping hand of Dutch DJ and producer DJ Overdose. He set the tone for the Hungarian label with his 05 Poly 800 Loop EP and made another contribution to their catalogue in 2019 with a split release alongside Sematic4. Powers of Ten marks lucky number three, and another trip through Overdose's raw, crunchy sound world. Backed up by a remix from local producer and label mate J.Mono, the three original analog tracks are a fusion of EBM, electro and old school vocoder disco.

PREMIERE: DJ Overdose - Garden Of Lust [Dalmata Daniel]

I have been knowing Schönfeld for many years already and following his musical output. It took a while until we found seven new songs from him for you. Now we are back with a little journey that takes you from hidden castles to the Mecklenburgian countryside, from a family party deep into the jungle and under the water. It all ends with a slow and beautiful song where he finally plays his trumpet again. 

The other side of the tape shows you the danceable side of Kadent - „a cute producer from Berlin with original Berliner Schnauze“. It starts with three of his dub techno songs followed by the summer hit Polarity. He then shows you how to have fun with relaxed drum ’n’ bass. Doctor Ballerton is really slow but energetic in its own way and Synthetic Substitution brings back the summer and lets me want to dance outside again.

Bad luck seemed to follow them around wherever they went, they just couldn't catch a break. A dark shadow that loomed over their every move, they wondered whose joke they were the butt of, it was almost laughable the amount of things that seemed to not work out in their favour. They often pondered what they would need to do for this luck to change or perhaps the universe was simply against them... Their fate was in somebody else's hands.

Fides, the Berlin-based label run by Tresor Resident Z.I.P.P.O, have been moving in the worlds of electro, techno and IDM-inspired electronics since 2015. For their 15th release they welcome Amsterdam producer and DJ Mayo for a five-track EP that comes with two remixes from Mary Lake and Danny Daze. Like her previous releases for United Identities, Marguerite and brokntoys, on Frenemies she delves into EBM-leaning sounds, fusing electro, techno and industrial influences with her distinctive use of ghostly synth lines, distorted vocals and meticulous sound design.

LUCYNA TAPE 01: Nowa Ziemia [LUCYNA002] is the first installment of a brand new series of compilations that tries to capture the elusive spirit of mysterious LUCYNA festival - the highly conceptual party and the holiday of half year's - an imaginary tradition that the crew tries to cultivate since 2018 experimenting with the form of an event and doing it bit different each time.


'Nowa Ziemia' - the name of one of the scenes at this year's edition - became a sort of laboratory for contemporary dance music taken beyond the obvious context of the club into the bosom of nature. Just like inclusive gatherings away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this compilation provokes reflection on dance as a form of individual expression.
