The water was not yet warm and the tourists were yet to arrive. As they sat watching from the shore, they took in the peace and quiet of the beach before the summer months sucked them in. Soon it would be too busy to move, there would be no room to swim and all that would be heard was the sound of whoops and screams as revellers delighted in the glow and warmth of an island which wasn’t really theirs.

She walked down the pier towards the water, hoping that the cold might shock her free from the guilt and dread of another long hot summer in another mans paradise.

She entered the ocean, only to become submerged by what lay below.

Gratts enlists contributions from Mr Beale on a new 7″ release which has us all seeking a warmer climate, Delicate leftfield house music at its very best, the sort which will sound great by the water or in the club.

The machine was oppressive and loud, it watched from the skies above, like a great overseer from the beyond. The people down below knew not why or who was behind the bulking beast but they could remember the sunshine and the life that had existed before. That, they would never forget.

It was always there, watching their every move as they came and went. It was a deconstruction tool, designed to break apart the pieces of a society which was once rife with colour and care. Now it was all gone.

It knew everything, the de-constructor. It was everything.

That was all.

Valencia based record label Frigio are set to release a remix package which features alternate versions of tracks from CLOCK DVA. This one is a hard hitting electro focussed EP which is built for dark, sleazy rooms. The Atom ™ remix was the stand out cut for us with a riotous saw driven synth and dark moody, alluring vocals.

London-based Elastics launch label of experimental club music focused around "tension and release".

Featuring a diverse six-track compilation of experimental club music the first Elastics outing is co-curated by Flatcap and INGI. Opening with McGregor and Lucy Grey's "Warm" and "Repercussions," and elsewhere Kincaid, INGI & Ryvahl's, Klahrk contribute fast-paced club tracks while R.E.D's "The Boat is Gone" offers a cathartic conclusion.

He kept on having these strange dreams. They came to him in the middle of the night and left him worried and wondering what might be out there in the far flung reaches of his imagination.

What was reality anyway, the world was a mess.

These visions were hinting at some far off time and place in which everything was perfect and free. Yet how could that be when the world spun with such malice and mischief.

Perhaps they were just dreams after all.

Michal Turtle is one of a handful of artists having been invited to reimagine the music of nICo on Estuary Tapes. A kraut track with rugged soul.

Milan-based electronic music producer nICo unveiled his debut solo EP, "Unexplored Earths" on label Estuary Tapes in May 2024. After several weeks of work, the label is proud to unveil the remixed edition, featuring contributions from several prominent names in the electronic scene : MR TC, Michal Turtle, Steve Pepe, A-Tweed and Oltrefuturo.
These new versions of nICo's tracks bring another dimension to the EP with a much more dub-oriented approach. MR TC and Michal Turtle's remixes sound like an ode to introspection, while A-Tweed, Oltrefuturo, and Steve Pepe deliver two gems crafted for the dancefloor.

The clouds floated softly on by. It were as if the storm which had come before had simply never happened but for the chaos and wreckage which it had left in its wake.

It's funny how transient nature could be. One minute something was here, present and destructive. The next it was very much not, very much away.

The skies would be brighter soon, the rebuild down beneath would commence and everything would return to as it was. All that was left now of that night were the memories, for they too could not float and disappear like clouds.

Mattias De Craene is set to release an album comprised of tape loops, grainy textures and mesmerizing saxophone. It's deeply pensive, thoughtful and dramatic. Layers upon layers of textures and sound infusions create new landscapes which are reminiscent of places not yet visited.

The release is forthcoming on VIERNULVIER Records.

It’s funny how something so wrong might feel so right. It wasn’t supposed to be like this, the deck stacked against you and the rules all askew. Yet these were the cards that he had been dealt, perhaps dealing was healing after all?

As he wandered through the city streets, a wildcard in the night, he wondered what people back home might think of his predicament. They’d always doubted him anyway so maybe this was nothing new after all?

He tucked his hand deep into his pocket to check everything was nice and tight. It was all there, closely wrapped, ready for the evening.

Gråzon features on a new split EP from Amsterdam based record label Pintai. This track is a classy, understated affair with floating ambient tones, a beautiful dancefloor moment.

The corridor seemed endless as the bell buzzed in his ear. Leaving school was his favourite time of the day, such attention to detail in concentrated spells left him feeling numb and dry. As he walked through the wooden doors out into the daylight he could hear the sound of screams and chants from the nearby playground. He remembered the innocence of youth, back before exams, house parties and ate nights. He had never imagined himself to be a teacher, yet here he was lecturing the youth of tomorrow with the knowledge of today. Walking home he sighed. 

Scissorwork is set to release his first EP on the recently founded record label The Other Planet. He delivers four cuts of dreamy house and dusty grooves.

Reptant - Illusory [Salt Mines]

Riviera Records is a brand new label that kicks off with ‘Move’ - a statement of intent from founder X-Coast. Continuing to perform across the USA, Canada, Europe and Asia, X-Coast is an unconventional character and little is known about the mysterious Serbian other than the concept for the alias is that it exists “somewhere in the deep blue Caribbean Sea, between your imagination and what’s real.” Having released on labels like Hot Haus, Lost Palms and Steel City Dance Discs, X-Coast now launches Riviera Records with a promise to be an “uncompromising classy of sounds” and the label stays true to that from the get-go. There is no mucking about here as X-Coasts demonstrates his versatility as a producer with three varying mixes of ‘Move’ making up the bulk of the package. First up is the Trans Mix: an arms-in- the-air, throwback trance track with euphoric vocal stabs all primed to inject real energy into any set. House Mix then bounces and bumps with a refracted garage vox and endless old school dynamism, before the twisting and turning Breaks Mix follows with its thumping drums, hits and rattling dub sounds that all explode to life. Finally, ‘Naos’ totally flips the script with a slow, deep, cosmic workout build on a rugged bassline. A breathy voice, warm chords and balmy pads all wash over you like a Balearic breeze and take you to hedonistic dance floor somewhere in 80s Ibiza.
