"Black Sunrise“ by Francesco Chiocci feat. Black Soda, was one of the highlights of our last edition of Livingroom Techno. When we heard the track for the frst time, we knew right away that it endears itself to remixers due to the haunting vocals by Black Soda from Cape Town.
The result is a full on family affair: Olderic, Lehar, Musumeci and Peter Pardeike have interpreted "Black Sunrise“ and although each of them has created his own trip, all of them are genuinely "The Sound of Connaisseur“.

Olderic’s version preaches the peak-time open-air moment with some proper pathos on top.

Lehar’s remix on the other hand takes the middle course between catchiness and abstract soundscapes, delivering a very unique interpretation.

Musumeci has created a deep house builder in the manner of Atjazz or Charles Webster, timeless to the bone.

And last but not least, Peter Pardeike declares his love to Afro-Beat with his version.
More summer simply isn’t possible!

Hard to believe, but this is actually Olderic’s first solo EP on Connaisseur. After various collaborations, remixes and showcase participations, and as one of our radio show's hosts , the maestro from the CIRQ club near Venice has finally dropped a three-tracker all by himself on Connaisseur.

Straight up, you have definitely noticed at least one of the titles on "The Secret Chambers EP“ in any one set of our Italian family lately, as all tracks have a very prominent sound design you'll easily recognize after having heard them but once.

"Pyramid" is the peak time pleaser of the release, a proper 3am monster designed to create mayhem on the dancefloor. The touching "Hydre Intime“ will more likely find its place in the morning, while the dubby "Walking & Waiting“ is a genuine warm-up tune. A lovely package by a great artist.

About the Ep :
Flying Circus Recordings wraps up a busy year with the release of The Seven Principles EP, by the Spanish DJ & producer, Squire. Having already released on labels such as Get Physical, Rebellion, My Favourite Robot and Moodmusic, this talented young artist delivers an outstanding trio of tracks, backed by a remix from Olderic.

Featuring a vocal performance from Vette, lead track ‘Lost Again’ is an expansive and haunting deep house workout; its shuffling percussive groove unfurls over the track’s ten minute length as the vocals and organ sounds blend in a terrific wall of sound.

With stellar productions on Connaisseuer Recordings, Compost and Mood Indigo, Italian producer Olderic steps up on the remix. Opting for a brighter atmospheric sound on his remix, the rolling snares and rumbling bass create quite an intense fever that continues to build its tension with rising brassy synths and use of Vette’s vocal.

On ‘Shaker Life’, Squire blends heavy hand percussion and, as the title suggests, plenty of shakers with otherworldly vocal hits and refrains (courtesy of Larde Darde) and electric guitar work for a most unique sound, a psychedelic and progressive take on the house music format. And EP closer, ‘Red Dot’ is a minimal and glitchy mood piece, its lazy groove featuring Squire’s hallmark esoteric sounds.

Drawing upon the fine sheet of paper he wondered whether he might one day present his work in a gallery far, far away. That was to be the dream but it seemed that little cared for the delicacies of his artwork or craft. Running in circles he continued to sketch nothing but an endless spiral, a loop within a loop which might never meet a graceful end. The clouds moved slowly across the sky as he gazed softly out of the prison cell window towards a free world...

Sunrom is set to appear on The Bricks with a finely tuned EP packed with twists and turns. House music in top form on a recently launched label by London disc jockey Anna Wall.

Being the co-owner of Selador certainly has its advantages as Dave Seaman knows only too well. The ability to release your own productions on your own label is of course, one of the perks of the job because quite frankly, who’s gonna stop you?! So no sooner has ‘Rodales’ (his contribution to the recent 3D EP) done it’s business, than the Boss Man pulls rank once again to deliver another lovingly crafted EP.

To be fair, it’s a release more than deserved of its place on the schedule. An EP of consummate artistry, the delightfully titled ‘Rapscallion’s Revenge’ comes in four variations; 2 courtesy of Dave himself with further interpretations coming from German upstarts Township Rebellion and Irish Techno master Ian O’Donovan. It’s an explosion of melody and rhythm and acid house spirit all intricately woven into a rich techno tapestry. Or something like that ;)

There was much to see and much to do beneath the covered streets, the tarpaulin which hung from atop the towering buildings cast a shadow down upon the densely packed close. This was Owino market and the price was right for whatever and whichever wonder you chose to buy upon that fine day. The air was close and the tiny alleyways packed with the hustle and bustle of people moving between market stalls - the heat was stale under the tightly packed coveralls and inside was all the trinkets and treats you might ever desire. 

Kawuku Sound is the collaborative project of two electronic producers Contours and Cervo who have worked alongside Ugandan percussion troupe Fonkodelis Arkestra. They have release a six track EP with a blend of influences.

There was very little to be seen out here but for rocks and sand. The dust blew abruptly in great clouds across the open expanse under the dense breeze of the midsummer wind. It was hot and heavy, making the eyes sting and a clenched face a must. The glowing pink sky offered the slight promise of rain and a cool release at some point in the near future but for now it was up to them to ride out the mist in all the glory of the Eastern world. It was going to be a long afternoon...

Terr is an artist moving from strength to strength - following releases on the likes of Permanent Vacation she now appears on Clash Lion with a sprawling assortment of electronics.

The people in the room began to dance, worries were left outside on the pavement and would not be collected until sometime tomorrow morning. All love within this desparate place was to be found amidst the room, what was external was to be forgotten and ignored for the time being. He had come here to dance with freedom and self preservation. This was his night upon the floor and the rest of society could give a damn how he moved to and fro with a swing in his step. 

Ryan Berkeley is set to release an inspired new EP on Houses In Motion in what will be the fifth outing on the record label. A strong release spanning a breadth of genres and style - this one is a treat.

The sunlight was piercing through the blind as he lay softly upon the cushioned floor. Inside the apartment it was still dark and shadowy after the carnage of the night before. Opwning his eyes he looked around to observe the scene which had unfolded. Toppled tables and chairs lay scattered upon the floor like discarded toys whilst music still echoed on from the speaker sat promptly in the corner of the room. He let out a sigh and smiled, this was home. 

ONIPA is set to release a new afro inspiredEP on Mawimbi Records and Wormfood Records. Mr. Boom is on remix duties for this one.

The earth rotated slowly day by day, the moon would appear only to be swept away by the dense blue sky of the morning and the radiant light. The sun had more power than we might ever imagine - to some it was a god, to others simply an incomprehensible object millions of miles away beyond reach. Heaven forbid the day we might find ourself within the touching distance of the great orb for we might burn helplessly to death - a little planet wiped out by fire, one with which we should never have played. 

Night Noise are set to release a new EP by Mantas & Vencla complete with an intriguing rework by the infamous Pete Herbert. Not one to take half measures his cut is inspired and strong.

Premiere: Emmanuel Jal - Kuar (FNX Omar Remix) [MoBlack Records]

As a solo producer, Guillaume was already causing atmospheric disturbances ahead of his debut album “Face À L’Est”, which appeared on Musique Risquee in 2007. Before the inception of his one-man band, Guillaume was moving and shaking with other protagonists via the Egg project with Julien Roy, Chic Miniature with Ernesto Ferreyra and Luci with David Fafard. All these projects share their history with the lauded Mutek festival, which Guillaume has been closely involved with since 2002.

So after a few years hiatus, Guillaume is back with new material released via new Berlin label Dokutoku... we've got the A-side here for your listening pleasure.

Curating their second release on the newly established independent imprint TAU, the Adana Twins are keen to support the best up-and-coming talent from a saturated DJ/Producer market. The second release showcases yet another rising star; Paris-based, Romanian born - BOg.

BOg first broke onto the electronic music landscape after being signed to John Digweed’s ‘Bedrock Records’. 12-years down the line he’s released on Dixon’s Innervisions and Solomun’s Diynamic, BOg is a constant in the record bags of DJs across the globe. Drawing strong influences from bands and artists such as Depeche Mode, The Prodigy, Aphex Twin or The Chemical Brothers, BOg’s ‘Terra EP’ has an evident other-worldly feel.

Innellea returns to TAU002 this time on remix duties, remixing ‘Terra’ and further cementing his position as a core artist on TAU. The B-side remix of ‘Jahar’ comes from Mathias Schober, chosen for the Adana Twins love his sound design and aesthetic, the producer delivers a remix rounding off the solid ‘Terra’ EP.

The bus was very busy as he got aboard amidst the dead of night. He was in the outback travelling across the distant desert whilst surrounded by a million others who were all but doing the same. They each hoped that they might make it across the border and into unchartered territory which mich offer new light and life. Some had said the regime was strict and forceful but anything would surely be better than life amidst the dust and hate. The stars flickered up high above as the bus bounced and weaved between the rocky jitters of the pathway. It was going to be a very long night as the engine roared oud. 

Olderic features on a new compilation set for release by Multinotes, the imprint will showcase twelve tracks from some of their favourite artists and producers. An impressive feat with some interesting material nestled amidst.
