Ensthal - Collective Synthesis (Les Yeux Orange)

Macaulay, the emerging Mexican producer, returns to Melómana Records with the 25th edition, and this time he does so with an album that goes beyond subtleties and experiments, launching himself directly to bite the ankle with a delirious, crazy and powerful Mexican electro. If with the EP "Raw Files", released several years ago on the same label, it helped the artist to define a sound and point out ways that were not soft and delicate, in "Seek to Fine" he has managed to refine, refine and take it further his musical concept. Here we find an EP that is made up of two tracks designed, not so much to be danced, but to throw the public, directly, onto the dance floor. The album opens with the homonymous track, with a powerful, frenetic and raw bassline, guided by repetitive and distorted voices, very inspired by the current electronic Mexican sound. It is followed by the track “Saqueo”, forceful, with some vocals from beyond the grave that give it a mystical touch, ideal to take us to ecstasy on the dance floor. The last track, the Mexican producer works together with Persona, on a track that culminates the round disc, summarizing the careers of both artists in a unique, singular and risky way.

There were several people vying for this opportunity, and he wouldn't put it past a couple of them to sabotage others to make sure it was theirs. But two could play that game he thought to himself, as he happened upon an open window round the corner...

Motek welcome close friend and Inside Out Records regular Stevie R back to the label following his ATOMS release in 2018. This time he teams up with frequent collaborator Parisinos for a collection of breakbeat and electro cuts laced with their signature Anatolian touch. Backed up by remixes from electro pioneer Carl Finlow and Motek’s own DelFin, the original track matches live instrumentation and electronic production, luring you in with its mysterious vocal chants, crunchy guitar and crisp percussion, wrapped up in a reverb.

Even in a crowded room of friendly faces he felt lost, unable to find his voice amongst the excited conversations and sputtering bursts of laughter. He needed to get out of his head and get into it, but though he wanted to, it was far more difficult in practice than it was in theory. For now he would fain a nod and muster a smile; remaining there in body but not in mind.

Manchester-based DJ, producer and 1020 Radio resident WDDS has been putting lockdown to good use this year. Following remixes for Codex and TR, a contribution to Accidental Meetings compilation, and a second release on his own Hectare Discs imprint he returns for a third on the latter, a two tracker titled Get Into / Lies From Diefeffell. Bringing contrasting but complementary sounds, the A-side merges hip hop influences with skittering drums while the flip brings deep pads and an off kilter D&B rhythm.

The stars seemed to sparkle more than ever tonight: perhaps there was romance in the air. From the comfort of their space ship they gazed out of the window, watching the cosmos move around them. It was the perfect setting for their date: a night they would surely never forget — or possibly never remember...

For more than a decade, French outfit RÜBA KPØ have been channeling their blend of analogue synthesis, sound effects, drumwork and vocals with their shared passion for electronic music. Following an EP earlier this year on Sonar Kollectiv, the four piece group embark on something of a rebrand with a new five track EP titled Arengue for RKRS Recordings. After turning their attentions to their radio show over the last few years as well as working on their live act, they now fully stretch their musical legs on this EP, pulling at strains of jazz, bass, cold wave and happy house.

Nobody's life was perfect but he started to think he'd been dealt a far worse hand than many others. Several toxic relationships, a myriad of lost jobs and unsuccessful opportunities, not to mention the countless mishaps, had seemed to be the dish of the day since his youth. Luck had never been on his side and things just didn't seem to go his way; he'd come to terms with living with it after all these years. 

Previously shrouded in mystery, Brother Nebula is the moniker of dance music veteran Lance Desardi who, over the last few years, has crafted cosmic and atmospheric breaks and house. He made his debut on Legwork back in 2018 with a collaborative EP alongside Solar, before quickly following it up with his first solo releases on the same label. Last year saw him land on Nick Höppner's Touch From A Distance, but now he makes a triumphant return to Legwork once again for The Physical World, an album of retro-futurist and interstellar electronics.

Rotterdam reputable libertine, Nous'klaer Audio mainstay and warmly welcomed at Something Happening Somewhere artist Mattheis returns to the Utrecht label and contributes a tight track to the label's latest spheric sound exhibition, namely Somewhere IV. t8 is holding onto a likewise considerable melody that's as impressive as those pictures it evokes of crystal clear rough gems – being one itself. Stretched or looped over nine minutes Mattheis created a unique sequence of sounds that burn into one's mind with such precision it feels like a melodic cut through the brain, stimulating and easing the listnener meanwhile and making it realize the beauty of this cohesive colorful composition.

EXCLUSIVE: Mattheis - t8 [Something Happening Somewhere]

The ship had been on its expedition for decades; its captain sailing it to new and undiscovered locations, capturing the hearts of new found friends and creating memories that would last forever. Many faces joined the voyage along the way, helping the captain steer the ship in new directions. There was no final destination in mind, there never had been — only the journey mattered.

Our own pal Bozza AKA Bawrut lends a hand in inaugurating London-based imprint Other Goodness with Divergent Emotions, a collection of three tracks that, like the title suggests, pull from different moods and feelings. Produced during lockdown, the tracks were made with home listening in mind rather than the club — well, almost all, there's still that no-nonsense Bawrut flair on the opener. The other two tracks bring different flavours: 'Sunshine' channels that post-rave feeling and 'AndreW', which is a special tribute to the Guv'nor himself, matches chugging rhythms with melancholic synth lines.

«Rotation Mécanique» is a sub label of MSQ Records, which focused on a physical releases: cassettes, vinyl, audio discs.

While the first vinyl release is being pressed on the factory, we present you RMR002, which owned by the producer «Aheadacheaday». The album «Naivety» consists of 6 viscous psychedelic dance stories written by the artist and one remix on its main track «Naivety in Cerrocupo» done by the resident DJ and co-founder of the Dusseldorf - based club/ bar "Salon Des Amateurs" Tolouse Low Trax. Throughout the album, we are hearing a subtle connection between contemporary electronic music and psychedelic shamanism, permeated with the caustic sounds of analog synthesizers, live instruments, drum machines with some magical hypnosis added. The final track «Over The Wall» allows the listener to breathe some fresh air and finally free himself from the shackles of the audio ritual described above.

Alberto de Angeli aka Aheadacheaday - half of the experimental audiovisual duo ALAN. You can listen to his monthly Internet Public Radio set Sunday Headaches, a show focused on independent labels’ specials and guests (Sacha Mambo, Gil.Barte, Alex Egan, Charlotte Atomi) or spinning vinyls as a resident at Fred Records (Milan), with a glass nearby.

«Naivety» was released on a limited quantity audio cassette and has the double-page spread in a quality polygraphic. The ultraviolet dyeing on a white audio cassette is another essential attribute of RMR002.

The professional TAPE 1 mastering is the beneficial that allows to listen it on some easy household appliances, as well as on any HI-FI / HI-END equipment. And it’s different from the digital sales mastering. We always care about the excellent sound quality of all our releases. By purchasing the cassette, you will also get the download code for this album in digital.

The beginning of 2021 sees electronic trailblazers Nothing Is Real showcase the truly global nature of their expansive sound and vision by profiling five Mexican artists on a compilation EP entitled ‘Made in Mexico’. Featuring a diversity of tracks from friends and collaborators Mufti, Montessori, Javier Martinez & Ulises Arrieta, Collossio & Cabizbajo and Tapia, this release demonstrates the deep roots that Nothing Is Real have made within the South American continent, as they put the talents of five swiftly rising Mexican producers on display.

Mufti opens the compilation with “Fields of Passion”, a slow burner that builds on the iconic new wave influences that Nothing Is Real are now known for. Throbbing basslines roll underneath shimmering synths that echo through a cavernous atmosphere, creating a sonic space in which the remainder of the EP flourishes beautifully. Following this up with elegance, Montessori taps the talents of Gael Gael for a collaborative venture, “Avant Garden”. As gentle increases in momentum build to a dramatic climax, the track serves as a prime example of the hypnotic rhythms and emotive melodies that Nothing Is Real are known for. Reaching the mid-point of the compilation, the duo of Javier Martinez & Ulises Arrieta keep the pace high with a six-minute jam that blends circular synth patterns, tribal drum fills and a solid, rolling 4/4 beat, before Collosio & Cabizbajo take a detour into electro with “Rapto”. On this track, the pair create something beautifully spooky out of futuristic FX and creative sonic manipulations that float above a gloriously resonant synth bass. Taking subtle cues from both Vangelis and vaporwave, this one is an impressive demonstration of how far the Nothing Is Real sound can reach. Closing the compilation with “Orbit”, a laudable display of musicality, Tapia treats us to a two-minute instrumental intro before a rapturous beat enters the mix.
