Matt Karmil, Pional, Marc Piñol and Dandara shed a new light on Slowciety’s previous record : Guru.
 
Guru Remixes opens with a mesmerising & coldish interpretation of the eponym title by Matt Karmil, reminding the raw textures of the UK-producer’s LP.
 
Pional's remix comes next with a powerful treatment of Elephant proving once again the dancefloor expertise of the Madrid-based producer. His re-interpretation is a progressive invitation to trance. He restitutes the shamanic experience from the original track and push it forward with soaring percussive elements & beats layered on a 90's esque emotive pad.
 
Marc Piñol opens the B side with a groovy remix of Guru, described by the man himself as a “122 BPM after party tool”. Heady bassline loop, dry & twisted sounds beefed up by Karmil's work on the mastering, lead the remix to an hypnotic ride, pure and efficient.
 
As a conclusion, the Swiss producer Dandara brings his tribal touch to the sensual

15 YEARS OF SEX TAGS MANIA! Established in Bergen 2004 and ran by DJ Sotofett & DJ Fett Burger the first 4-5 years as one of Norways only labels consistently releasing House & Techno on vinyl. Since about 2008/09 it's been operated by DJ Sotofett.

Skatebård's "Conga" has turned to be one of the most sought after releases from the Sex Tags Mania catalog with it's sparse pressing of about 2-300 copies – though most of the original stock was given away as the record gained minimal interest in 2005. The original record was cut with excellence by Lawrie Immersion – and pressed in his own plant – the now defunct Curved Pressings. MANIA 30 – the repress of "Conga" has as close to original sound as possible and it also carries a new B-side – the Crystal Bois live version of "Conga" from 2007, featuring Skatebård on male vox!

VOX LOW -  Now We're Ready To Spend

The German producer @KikeamRadar returns to @DogsAndVulturesRecords, this time with 'Testament', a ray of light that  manages to keep us afloat through the cold and lack of sun . In his latest work he has managed to take his music to another level, more narrative, reflective and intimate, mixing different influences using old and new synthesizers and analog drum machines and combining them with plug-ins and digital effects.

Acclaimed French band @VoxLow takes on 'In Troubled Times' and really make it their own, in a way only they can . Elegant in its own unique right it takes the original to even higher levels with their trademark bass. We're sure this one's going to have lasting appeal and a track you'll be hearing much more of.

The  EP is completed with other excellent remixes from Nozz and  Montcosmik.

The wheels kept spinning as the car travelled down the long, winding road. In the distance there was little light remaining but he continued to drive through what was left, the motion was underway and soon he would arrive at his final destination. The towering hills rose up to the sky alongside the twisted concrete path and soon the glow of the headlights would be all that could guide the way. For now the hum of the engine was enough for company, for now. 

Ilija Rudman is set to appear on a new EP for Is It Balearic? He is remixed by none other than Italo house legend Don Carlos who delivers a charming melodic inspired remix.

The beach was busy with human life upon the first date in July. It was as if half of the country had flocked from far and wide to touch down upon the shore and watch the waves slowly roll in against the golden sand. The heat poured down upon the crowds from the radiant sun which shone brightly up high above. The sky was a crystal clear blue and the sound of sweet music travelled softly upon the warm summer breeze. In cafes some watched others swim whilst afraid to dunk their own feet, they drank from straws a golden liquid made for a day beneath the light. 

We love a good edit here at Ransom Note, it can be a fine art, a thing of delicate beauty. The Rollover DJ's have reworked "Che Cavolo Di Vita Fai" in a showcase of balearic beauty.

The night had drawn to a close and there was little noise left in the small basement. The reverb echoed loudly from the machine in the corner but it was not a sweet sound or tone but bitter and dull. The band had left the room some time ago but the crowd remained loyally attached to the stage - hoping and praying for the return of their heroes. Little did they in fact know that this was the end of times, the last dance and a farewell outing. Soon they would leave but not just yet, not now. 

The Golden Filter continue to delight and inspire, a duo with a sense of purpose and a formidable swagger. Optimo did very well indeed to snap them up and their music demonstrates supreme quality.

The towering crane looked down over the skyscrapers in motion. The construction looked almost alien like from such great height, a rugged scattering of metal framework, steel beams and concrete. Vertigo had started to kick in as he sat perched atop the city, his tiny cabin did little to offer comfort or security from the pouring rain which battered against the glass window. The raindrops sat laden upon the frame, he watched them drip one by one down the pane. Only a few more hours to go....

Opal Sunn is the dynamic duo made up of Al Kassian and Hiroaki OBA, the pair have been producing music together for several years. Simon Pitt and Al Kassian launched Planet Sundae back in 2016.Listen to "Vertigo" from their new EP.

The estate was rugged and rural, not somewhere one would like to spend too much time lurking upon the street corner. Thrown furniture littered the driveways of towerblocks, discarded items perched abruptly amidst an environment in which they were very much out of place. This was the way of the world around here, people cared not for the relevance of beauty but for the daily grind - the perpetual struggle by which man worked from the cradle to the grave. Times were hard. 

SZE Records continues to gather momentum as the label kicks off 2018 from an up and coming producer known as Pletnev. He has previously appeared on the likes of Bahnsteig 23 and Meda Fury.

The EP opens with a slowly blossoming and stripped down dance floor interpretation by Matt Karmil, who lays the focus on the organic sounds of the original and brings it to life by introducing beautifully crafted melodies, reminding the raw textures of the UK-producer’s LP. A remix that wouldn't be out of touch at a Giegling event, while the sun sets true the trees and the warm, red light bulbs appear dangling from the branches.

Premiere: Sunrom - Guru (Matt Karmil Remix) [Slowciety]

The wise words were haunting and poignant amidst the shadowy light of the red booth. The back room was where fortunes were told and tall tales were partial to debate. Seeking advice from a guru was no simplistic feat, it had taken many years for him to brave his fate. Now as he sat perched upon the cold, foreboding chair he wished he had never entered this space. There was a strong smell of incense which hung thick in the musky air, perhaps it was supposed to sweeten the strength of truth. He cared not for its weighty haze and the space, it crawled with ominous expectation and eerie memories. 

Sunrom is remixed on a new EP by an array of enigmatic producers - Matt Karmil, Pional, Marc Piñol and Dandara have all stepped up to the challenge. The release will be available from the 26th of January. Listen to the Marc Pinol remix.
