As part of The Gun’s run of final events, I hosted 2 ‘Just Because’ nights, based on the premise that the DJs would not exceed 100bpm, unless it was in case of an emergency. I was able to invite some of my closest friends to play across the two nights, including Debonair, Nadia Ksaiba, Emma Rudge, Ilan and my b2b partner on this particular night, Matt Walsh. 

We go back a long way, going to all of the same parties in the mid-noughties, playing together a lot at Bugged Out, Wax:On and the like and even hosting our own weekly residency, High Horse, at the legendary T Bar (alongside Ben and Alex from the equally legendary Skull Juice).

Matt and I decided that it would be nice to share this set ahead of our gig together in Margate this Sunday 4th May at Faith In Strangers.

Completing the triumvirate is our pal Daniel Avery, who’ll be headlining the night.

Classically trained in piano, she has since embraced experimental approaches, weaving together unconventional sources—field recordings, everyday objects, and acoustic instruments—to craft richly textured, deeply evocative music. Her sonic explorations range from capturing the emotions of daily life to composing immersive soundscapes for films.

The FUTUREWAVES series is back and this time to push boundaries even further, dedicated to the more profound and experimental side of electronic music. Expect organic soundscapes, spontaneity and raw emotion in a highly innovative mix series.

The People In The Fog is a moniker of DJ Sodeyama. He has been a stalwart of the Tokyo underground for nearly three decades, cutting his teeth in the 90's and retaining a key presence at the forefront of Japan's house music scene.

Over the years he has released a sprawling array of music under a few monikers on the likes of Zenit, Rekids, Quartz and трип. However most recently he has been operating under the guise of The People In The Fog which has afforded him the chance to dig deeper into his sound channeling elements of funk, downtempo and the dubbier undertones of house.

He has released this material on Japanese record label Sound Of Vast and for dj's in the know those records have become a 'buy on sight' scenario.

This mix showcases versatility and class. Tight blends, excellent, deep thoughtful selections.
