Elena Colombi B2B Interstellar Funk 31/12/18 - NTS Radio

Chinese born Tzusing has spent time in Chicago, Singapore and Taiwan and “this condition of dislocation” is what informs his music. It is a brash mix of industrial textures, harsh broken techno and subversive pop, trap and rap that is all blurred into one borderless offering that mirrors his own personal intersections. That music has come on LIES since 2011 and has given rise to standout LP 東方不敗 in 2017 that lead to shows on Boiler Room, Dommune and at Berghain. 

He was quiet on the release front in 2018, but has started this year with a new split EP on Pan, and now offers us a musical catch up ahead of him playing at Dekmantel Festival later in the year. Over the course of seventy minutes he jumps around restlessly, but somehow his sounds remain united by shiny metallic surfaces whether he’s mixing in Asian pop, whirring computer sounds in meltdown or horror-core. To us, it sounds like a futuristic soundtrack to some hyper urban metropolis that’s on the brink of collapse, and it’s genuinely compelling.

Up next in the series is a producer, dj and label boss who we've been keeping an eye on for some time now. She's channeled a path for herself, showcasing music across the spectrum of UK bass, techno and beyond.

As the founder of the Pressure Dome label she has been responsible for the release of music by the likes of Joseph Craven, Mish, Syz and more. As a producer she herself has also appeared on the label and has also released music via Be Told Lies and Sci-fact Records. Her music has been widely supported from a number of UK based artists and she has found herself at home amidst the evolving leftfield bass and techno scene which is as crucial and prominent as ever. 

We felt that now was the perfect opportunity to showcase her distinct talent in the booth and once lockdown is over we expect to be seeing a whole lot more of Yushh, an artist very much on the up.
