Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Christmas songs and the like are also not eligible for the Listening Post, although we will collect these into a playlist that will be published on 24 December.

This track is a collaboration between The Sighs of Monsters and poet David Chislett. The poem "More Than Blue" appears in his new collection of poetry "With All Of You" and we were tasked with setting it to music, along with other artists who chose other works. The poem references the cultural impact of New Order's "Blue Monday" as it pounded out of the loudspeakers of the clubs in the 1980s, as the author "found his tribe". We've made some cheeky references to it in our musical treatment.

We Three Kings are a no-nonsense three piece rock’n’roll band from Manchester, UK, with a balls-out sound that blends the blues, fuzz and noise into three minute mini miracles of pure joy.

The Sighs of Monsters is a band from the UK. 

The easy answer to "What sort of music do they play?" is ‘art rock’, but in truth they do what they think the song needs. 

"Three quarters of a century into rock ‘n’ roll, the musical vocabulary is so huge that restricting oneself to a particular style seems pointless and needless," says vocalist/guitarist Dean Sobers.

"The ‘The Sighs of Monsters’ sound comes from the way we play and the personality of Dean’s voice, but we don’t mind pulling in elements of folk, jazz, punk, ska, avant garde, or straight-down-the line rock. There comes a point in the life of a song where it is almost able to tell you what it needs, " adds percussionist Chris Houston.

The band started recording 'GROUND' with no fixed agenda, "but we knew from the start that we wanted to create an album that felt like one of those classic albums we grew up with," says bassist Brett Lock. "The ‘album’ as an artistic statement has lost a lot of ground over the last decade because iTunes culture has emphasised random individual tracks compiled into personal playlists. We wanted to create something for the type of music fan that enjoys sitting back and listening to an album as a cohesive work: someone with patience and who remembers why they loved music."
