Psychedelic Metal Band straight outta Ballarat, Vic

Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Gravity Stone are a 5-piece progressive rock/metal band that walk the line between being undeniably cringe and irresistibly based. Their music is half 70s prog, half ballet, half free jazz, half delta blues, half barbershop quartet, half grindcore, half third wave ska, half harsh noise, half ragtime and half contemporary pop. Brace yourself for an oozing smorgasbord of eclectic auditory mayhem, that is well worth the superlatives.

In 2017, Gravity Stone formed as a 3 piece with Lead Singer/Guitarist Daniel Osborne, Bass Player Rory Moylan and Drummer Harrison Xirocostas. In 2018, Robbie Cotterell joined the band as the Lead Guitarist and Backing Vocalist. Then in early 2019 Keyboardist Matt Bryant joined the band as the fifth member. 2020 saw a change to the line-up as Curtis Atkins replaced Rory on bass. 

The members of the band have been individually influenced by many different artists over the years such as Dream Theater, Haken, Opeth, Metallica, and Pink Floyd. They have combined their musical taste and ability to pursue their passion for Progressive Rock. Gravity Stone have recorded 5 original songs for their 2019 EP ‘Unfurled’ which is available on all streaming services including Spotify and iTunes. They also released their single ‘Poly’ in December 2020 and ‘Dichotomy’ in May 2022. In 2024, Gravity Stone released ‘Live at UOW’, an album featuring live versions of their songs as well as unreleased fan favourites. Footage of this concert is also available on the Gravity Stone YouTube channel. 

Career highlights include participating in YouthRock, winning the Penrith battle of the bands as well as the Illawarra Music Foundry battle of the bands, headlining the local Campbelltown Fishers Ghost Festival, headlining the Sunset Sounds rock edition for Youthweek and participating in the Wacken Music Battle at the Crowbar Sydney. The band were also honoured to receive the Macarthur Young Champions Award in 2019 for their work in the community.
