Keith’s calling as a musician began at the tender age of five, when he  was gifted a toy organ. He promptly began playing renditions of the commercial jingles heard on television, and from there progressed to studying movie soundtracks. Keith’s realization of the profound effect music had in connecting with an audience launched him on his journey as a  composer.


Keith's compositions thoughtfully blend orchestral and electronic elements to create an emotionally enticing soundscape, while his gift for creating thematic music with captivating melodies enables the listener to travel on a personal  journey through the ebb and flow of each piece.

A graduate of the UCLA Extension Film Scoring Program, Keith studied  under notable film and television composers and industry professionals.  After completing his studies, he was awarded an internship with The Society of Composers and Lyricists Annual Mentor Program and selected as one of only 15 participants in the annual ASCAP Annual Film Scoring Workshop. Keith was later featured in Music Connection magazine in an article focusing on the diverse backgrounds of the group.

His album of New Age music entitled, "Etc...", was released through Bay Area record label Noir Records, which led to a collaboration with the  composer for the independent film, Park Day, for which Keith provided additional music. This film went on to win the Audience Award at the Urbanworld Film Festival.

Keith also scored the short film, The Showdown, which received the inaugural Triple Play Award for Best Technical Integration – Original Score at the Long Island International Film Expo.

While still passionate about writing New Age compositions, Keith also continues to work with music publishers and trailer house companies, where his music can be heard in various mediums.

My sketchbook of sonic oddities that spans a few decades; from sample-centric OctaMED on my Amiga in '99 via Making Waves/SoundForge 4.5 to VST-centric Reason 13.
I emphasise the "sketchbook" aspect because these are snapshots of creativity that often outstay their welcome with too much repetition and too little progression. They are very far from being finished works but serve to capture the beginnings of ideas that might be developed into finished works in the future. There are no finished works here... only sketches. This is my sketchbook.

I’ve always loved discovering new music and became soon fascinated by all the musical styles i could take inspiration from. By combining classical training with composition techniques inspired by contemporary, pop and jazz music, i'm as comfortable with scoring an established franchise than with setting up the personal sonic world of an original project.

The Unfinished is me, Matt Bowdler. I am a composer and sound designer, producing synth soundsets and sample libraries - both commercial and bespoke.
