Our vision is simple: all our artists are proud to be from west Wales and are passionate about the uniqueness and inspiration this area has given them. QR wants to challenge preconceived ideas of what it is to be from our area through music, art, technology, design and film, culminating into events to showcase these ideals.

My recent work includes scoring the hit children's show 'Mojo Swoptops', an animated series for CBeebies. In previous years I scored the animated feature 'StarDog and TurboCat' for theatrical release and streaming, and the live action special 'Red Riding Hood: After Ever After' for Sky.

Matthew Whiteside, the List Hot 100 2019, is a composer, collaborator, sound designer and concert producer based in Glasgow, named ‘One to Watch’ in the Herald’s Culture Awards 2017 and winner of the Light Moves Innovative Use of Sound Award for his work Entangled with Marisa Zanotti. His music has been described as “Effective and Unsettling” by BBC Music Magazine and “post-minimalist bold sparseness” by the Herald.

Recent work has included a short opera Little Black Lies commissioned by Scottish Opera Connect, with libretto by Helene Grøn; Night Thoughtsi, commissioned by Crash Ensemble for première at New Music Dublin 2020; Rama, commissioned by The Night With… for Ensemble Offspring; Entangled, commissioned by the Institute of Physics for the 2018 NI Science Festival; and working with filmmaker/chorographer Marisa Zanotti creating collaborative work with Magnetic North.

He has received international performances by ensembles and performers such as the RTÉ NSO, Red Note Ensemble, the Aurea Quartet, Pauline Kim Harris and Diagenesis Duo at venues such as New York University, Dublin’s National Concert Hall, Glasgow City Halls, Salem Artworks in New York and the Belfast International Festival at Queen’s. He has been commissioned by Cottiers Chamber Project and Lorimer Productions for Cappella Nova and co-commissioned by sound festival and R-Space gallery to collaborate with Dominika Mayovich to create an interactive sound/art installation which resulted in Exhibiton Music.

The 24 is a progressive vocal group from York consisting of two dozen mixed voices. The group specialises in new and unusual music, but its repertoire extends across all genres and periods.

​Daniel Clive McCallum is an internationally awarded composer for film, advertisement, and concert music.
 
Born in Australia, Daniel grew up studying music from an early age. By the time he was 13, Daniel left normal high school to further his musical education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He graduated in 2007 and was awarded a full scholarship to study composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
 
In 2012, Daniel was hired straight out of University by Howard Shore to work on the feature film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. At the end of 2012, Daniel moved to Los Angeles to work as a freelance composer & orchestrator. Two years later, Daniel married his wife Virginia Rockwell; both currently work in the film and media music industry.
 
Alongside film and concert music, Daniel has built relationships working with various Rock and Pop artists including; Imogeon Heap, Guy Chambers, Terraplane Sun, Richard Flack, and members of the band Bad Finger. Most recently, two separate film scores orchestrated by Daniel won best original score and best original song at the 2016 Goya Awards in Spain (known informally as “the Spanish Oscars”).
 
Daniel also recently completed the orchestration for the new 2016 Summer Olympic Games theme, recorded by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in Australia. The theme will air worldwide on ESPN this August.
