Latin was my first love, and music is my second. I've utterly fallen for those of the soulful, creative, inspiring and inciting kind. The one composed with heart and soul, the one performed with passion and aplomb. Searching for a way to express my love for and enthusiasm about music, I've found twitter is a decent and effective place to do so, yet given my wordy nature 140 characters one day simply didn't suffice to promote the music I enjoy anymore. This is how my music blog - carpe carmina - came into being (a heartfelt thank-you goes out to my favourite UK band High/Low for the encouragement to start writing about music, to my all time favourite band for so many years by now, Midnight Hour, for making me realize my affection for music and my wish to help those artists in whose talent I believe in, and to all those people who read my blog, who recommend and submit music for it). .44 Pistol are a young, high energy electric blues band. Slide guitar driven, stripped back & dirty, they bring together the laid back country blues of artists such as Mississippi Fred McDowell with the raw electric sound of contemporary bands like the White Stripes. Up-tempo, rough & ready this is music to drink, dance and stomp your feet along to. The band play a mix of originals, re-written old blues songs and known covers

Although based in Stafford, since forming in 2008 they’ve clocked up around 10,000 miles, honing their style at pubs, clubs and festivals across the country & proving just how much gear it’s possible to fit into a Ford Fiesta. The band have received radio play on local stations from Essex to the Peak District, been reviewed by Blues in Britain & reached fans as far away as France and Poland. All of which they have managed without a bass player.

Louise and The Feathers really bring their own unique twist to your classic folk genre; incorporating an rock, country twist with capturing heartfelt lyrics, that cut down to your deepest, raw emotions. Taking influences from Florence and The Machine, Paolo Nutini, Phil Collins, Hazel O’Connor and Fleetwood Mac don’t be shocked to get lost in the music as their tracks take you on a true musical journey.
Their hit song, 'Superwoman' getting featured on Welsh Connections, Amazing Radio and Future Hits "being the best one yet!” highlights the pure talent with catchy licks and thought-provoking lyricism.
Louise and The Feathers sharing her “amazing soulful voice and powerful energy" capturing the audience, it’s great to hear new addition to the line up and gigs at CWRW Carmarthen (29th November) and Railway Inn Swansea (6th December) going well will be back alongside multiple more in 2026.
