For Dutch producer and DJ @deeparturenl, music is all about feeling. His often cinematic and sweeping takes on the textures of melodic techno and house have made his sound distinctive. His current ascent through the ranks of a genre saturated by much of the same can be credited to this commitment to emotion - particularly those uplifting ones - with Deeparture tapping in to an energy that uniquely and unmistakably his own. As he continues to push the boundaries of his own creativity, Deeparture has begun to discover the multitude of nuances that lurk beneath the surface of his work and him himself, and having taken the time to hone in on these, is ready to set flight. We chatted to him after the release of his EP Electric Light and ahead of his set for Mystic Garden at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event.

@anishkumarmusic quite literally has dance music pumping through his veins. He’s been a student of crafting dance floor filling electronic music since childhood, picking up production has a hobby at just 11 years old and since, growing it into a flourishing music career. His boundary-pushing sound has caught the attention of artists like Four Tet and Annie Mac - modern tapestries of house and UK electronica steeped in a rich personal and cultural history. A master of the art of sampling, Kumar approaches his references more like an archivist - piecing together sounds like fragments of memories, stitching his soulful and propulsive cuts together with threads of meaning and intention. His calm demeanour might seem surprising for someone whose high energy tracks have been setting dance floors alight over the past few years, but it reveals the truth of just who Anish Kumar is - a storyteller. Ahead of the release of his debut mixtape, simply titled ‘A Mixtape,’ we spoke with him about his journey so far.

Dutch DJ and producer @djsandrosilva established himself as one of the pioneers in modern electronic dance music. Discovered and embraced at a young age by the likes of Tiësto, David Guetta and Calvin Harris, he enjoyed massive successes early on in his career. Back in 2011 it was his astronomical hit record Epic together with Quintino, that shot him to worldwide fame. Remaining a steady presence ever since, he’s collaborated with the likes of W&W and 3 Are Legend, and remixed similar key players like Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki and Laidback Luke.

 

The musical road he’s taken has been a fast one, creating a new wave with his big room sound and continuously pushing and evolving his career. After years of touring and hitting the elite hotspots and biggest festivals around the globe, he remains ever so focused on pushing his own boundaries and showcasing his new music to the world.

Every artist has a signature—and Mihai is no exception. For over a decade, the acclaimed Romanian producer and DJ has crafted a distinctive sound defined by deep grooves, sharp precision, and an infectious, understated energy.

As well as his impeccable production skills, Mihai has gained recognition, both in Romania and abroad. From growing up watching clubs on TV to playing in them across the world, Mihai’s journey came full circle. His CV now includes iconic venues like Berghain and Watergate in Berlin, Fabric and The Egg in London, D-Edge in São Paulo, and DC-10 in Ibiza.
