I came across Alfredo Mazzilli through the AOS podcast a little while back and I went to check out more of his well crafted productions. He seems to have developed his own sound and is currently busy with some heavyweight record labels like Edit Select and Planet Rhythm.  It turns out he had already made contact with me to contribute to the podcast, so im really happy that he wants to join The Print series. His mix is very warm, energetic and has all the ingredients to make it a solid favourite. Watch out for this guy in the future.

Sri-Lanka born, Sweden raised, the enigmatic @Kalawila has an affinity for the uncertain, drawing inspiration from unconventional experiences and remote travels.

Through his time in Berlin, he realised techno was a modern way of describing a fundamental feeling dating back to ancient times. He explores this feeling within his DJ sets and productions on the likes of Bossmusik and his own label Mountain Explosion Device, examining textures and the void-like space between spaces.

We are happy to present the first Patterns of Perception mix of 2017 – a forward thinking, uncompromising affair from the immensely talented Swedish artist.

Sydney born and now Berlin based, Hysteria is a product of his surroundings. Alongside friends and resident DJs, he co-created Patterns of Perception in 2016. Through their carefully curated parties at OHM Berlin, About Blank and the mix series, the platform has established itself as a destination for a more contemporary approach to techno.

As a creative director in his day to day, he always has an eye on aesthetics and narratives, a skill he uses to craft sets to always gets the dance floor moving at any time of night or day. He would describe his sound as deep groovy cosmic vibes.

Hailing from Okinawa, now-Tokyo-based producer IORI once cut his teeth as an assistant for David Mancuso’s revered party, The Loft, in New York City, where he learnt a meticulous sonic mentality from his audiophile mentor. This permeates his carefully-handled arrangements, which have helped make his name and define a series of spacey, atmospheric originals and remixes for proponent imprints like Phonica and Prologue to name but a few.
Since his striking 2009 debut, Galaxy, which took its cue from Basic Channel and Manuel Gottsching, the Japanese producer has developed an immensely expressive dubbed-out sound in his own right. The first culmination of that is 2012’s excellent
Nexus album for Bitta, a label owned by Far Eastern rising star DJ Nobu, seeing his ambient productions sit nicely with his hypnotic dance tunes.
Two year stay in Berlin in early 2010s helped IORI gain a foothold in the international stage. He has since traveled across Europe, validating his characteristic meditative techno set, which is just the tip of his huge musical iceberg that ranges from low-slung house to leftfield oddballs. Despite his return to Japan in 2015, his presence remains strongly felt through frequent European tours.
2016 saw IORI release the Cold Radiance album, where his sci-fi ambient side grew fully- fledged. For an artist that has produced immersive and spacious pieces, it was a logical continuation of his extensive career as a producer. Eschewing the club-orientated perspective, it certainly proved IORI’s expressional depth and does justice to his artistic intention, his acute ears for spellbinding details standing out in sharp relief, which raised expectations of his promising future. From the DelicaListen platform, of which she is also a director, she has curated concerts and audiovisual projects for events such as MUTEK or L.E.V. In addition, she has also programmed the DNIT cycle at the Caixa Forum in Barcelona bringing artists such as Ben Frost, Tim Hecker or Andy Stott. To all this we must add her work as a vinyl collector, from the age of 8, and a selector, going through this last facet, among others, the almighty Burning Man in 2006.
